Chapter 4: Matches and Scars

After the stage had been cleaned up, the two siblings were now facing each other. Todoroki seemed relaxed and maybe a little annoyed, and he wasn't too happy about fighting against his sister, especially since she didn't even possess a quirk herself. Meanwhile, Hiroka seemed to be smiling calmly and sweetly.

"Shoto," Hiroka called out before the match started. "Don't disappoint." Todoroki was surprised to hear those words, and even Endeavor was getting a little curious at what his daughter was planning. The crowd was silent as they waited for the match to begin; a battle between siblings could end up engaging. What made it even more exciting was that everyone knew of Todoroki's quirk and abilities in battle but knew nothing of his twin.

The match finally begins, and Todoroki immediately tries to freeze Hiroka, similar to his fight with Sero but not as powerful. She seems to evade and isn't in sight. "That was a close one, little brother," says Hiroka with a smirk as she appears to be floating above the ice. The crowd whispers trying to figure out Hiroka's quirk, believing it to be a mutation. Endeavor is surprised, and instead of showing it, he grinds his teeth.

Even Todoroki is taken aback but quickly recovers as he thinks of a better way to beat her. Before he can act, he feels a small cut followed by a burn on his arm. He sees a rip in his sleeve and a cut, but nothing else when he turns to look. "You better act fast before disappointing father," she teases. This infuriates him, and he starts shooting ice at her, but she quickly dodges as it flies through the air. Hiroka then starts fighting back, shooting what seems to be hot air bullets in his direction. This starts pushing him back, and he uses his ice to keep himself from going back and for deflecting.

Todoroki tries attacking her during this instant, but she swiftly dodges. He starts getting frustrated from not deflecting all her attacks since she's a lot faster than him. It also doesn't help that he isn't able to attack. As the match goes on, he notices that her breathing seems to be getting heavier, and her movements are slowing down a bit. She stops her small attacks, and her smirk completely disappears. She now appears to be floating a meter above the ground.

He tries to freeze underneath her, but she lifts her arms towards him before he can do much. A wave of hot air pushes him back, but he raises a wall of ice to stop him. Todoroki can barely move with the intensity of the air and is quite thankful to be resistant to heat. The only thing that prevents him from going out of bounds is a now cracking wall of ice behind him since his feet aren't able to do much. Then the air stops.

As he moves his arms away from his face to see why she suddenly stopped, he stands there surprised at the sight. His sister, teasing him earlier, is now lying on the ground, breathing heavily, face red, and sweating everywhere. Midnight was now by her side as she announced, "Todoroki Hiroka is unable to move. Todoroki Shoto advances to the next round!"

Quirk: Steam

Hiroka can release steam from her body and mix it with the water vapor already in her surroundings. She can only use the water vapor in her environment if mixed with her own steam.

Not So Fun Facts: Her body temperature increases when using her quirk. She can last quite some time using it since she has good heat resistance. The problem is she can quickly get dehydrated when overused or for an extended time.

The cheer from the crowd wasn't too loud, and Todoroki just felt ashamed. He won, but only because she got tired, not because of his abilities. As Hiroka was loaded onto the stretcher, she said, "Fuck you, Shoto." Her middle finger accompanied her comment before she passed out and was taken away.

Todoroki didn't know exactly how to feel, and many things just happened in such a short time. His sister isn't quirkless. She is faster and more agile, she hates him, and he can feel his father glaring at him. With his usual emotionless face, he went back inside to change his uniform. Endeavor was annoyed, but it wasn't too noticeable since he always seemed angry. Shoto almost lost, and to his sister, who up until now to him was known to be quirkless.
