IT was already raining when I reached the hotel.
It got colder in our room than it used to be, so I got on my bed and tucked myself in the comforter.
I watched "Safe Haven" and napped after.
I have fallen into a deep slumber and had only awakened due to the roaring outside.
It was already raining cats and dogs.
I checked on my phone if I got a message.
I didn't have any but I got missed calls from my Daddy.
I called him up.
He was checking on us and asking if Manuel had gotten back from his exam.
I informed Daddy that Manuel was not around yet and that it was already raining heavily outside.
"I don't think that it would be safe for Manuel to travel back to Zambales."
"I thought so, Daddy. I would talk to him once he got back here; I'll update you."
"Alright."
"How are you, Dad?"
"We're fine. It's starting to rain here as well. Your mom is in the kitchen; she's busy preparing dinner."
"What is she cooking?"
"Sinigang."
"Yummy! How I wish I was there, Daddy. I missed you so much."
"We missed you, too. I'll hang up for now."
"Ok, Dad. Love you!"
"Love you too."
I cut the call. Seconds later, Manuel was calling.
"Hey! What's up? Are you done?"
"Yes. I'm heading to the parking lot now."
"There is a rainstorm."
"I had already talked toCelestineand informed her that I would be extending my stay here until tomorrow. I couldn't risk going home with this kind of weather. Could you stay for another night, or should I drive you home later?"
"I'll call up Aunt Aaliyah and inform her about it. Or would you want to drop by the house instead? Talk to her, at the same time kindly collect my uniform for tomorrow."
"I supposed that's better. I could talk to her personally and ask her myself for her approval."
"Okay. Thank you. Be safe in driving. See you!"

I headed for the door when I heard a knock; I saw Manuel on the peephole. He got us food from Kung Fu Kitchen and coffee from Starbucks which I got from him and placed on the table. He put my things in the dresser.
"How was the exam?"
"It was kind of difficult, but I think I did enough. Well, let's not talk about it for now. I am starving."
"I'm sorry. Relax for a while. I'll set our food on the table."
He followed me and sat on the settee. He picked up the cappuccino and sipped from the cup. We started eating up the sumptuous dinner that he bought.
"By the way, I brought you a jacket. Your cardigan won't do in this kind of weather."
"Thanks! Have you asked permission from your principal yet?"
"There are no classes tomorrow. Have you not tuned in to the news program a while ago?"
"Seriously? Are classes here in the city suspended, too? I was watching Safe Haven before I napped; I never bothered to watch the news."
