The next day Sam had asked Claire to take him back to the boardwalk. He explained what had happened with their grandfather and Claire had laughed. After they had got the okay from their mother, Claire took him on her bike and together they walked to the comic book store.

"Where are we going Sammy?" Claire asked her younger brother as she followed him.

"The comic book store. Where else?" He laughed causing her to roll her eyes playfully. Claire wasn't one for comic books but she was supportive of her brothers so if Sam wanted to go look at Comic Books that's what she was going to do.

The two walked into the store quietly and Sam made his way over to a few comics and two young boys were staring at the two siblings. After a few moments the two boys approached the Emersons and spoke.

"Notice anything unusual about Santa Carla yet?" One of them asked Sam.

"No. It's a pretty cool place. If you're a Martian." Sam replied back.

"Or a vampire." The one with a bandana and Camo print added.

"Are you guys sniffing old newsprint or something?" Sam asked with a smile on his face.

"Vampires?" Claire scoffed. "Come on, you can't be serious." She smirked.

"You think you really know what's happening around here don't you?" The same guy asked. "Well I'll tell you something. You don't know shit buddy."

"Yeah." The first guy spoke up and they all started walking in one direction. Claire rolled her eyes. Weird kids.

She caught up with the three boys and stood behind Sam.

"You think we work in a comic-book store for our folks." The boy with the slick backed Black hair spoke. Claire looked behind the two boys and saw whom she thought were their parents asleep against the wall.

"You don't?" She questioned with her eyebrow raised.

The two boys looked at her and were going to answer but Sam spoke first. "Actually, we thought this was a bakery."

"This is just our cover." The Red Bandana kid shoved a comic in Sam's chest. "We're dedicated, we're fighters for truth, justice and the American way."

Sam just ignored it and pulled his sister away from the two guys. "Really?" He had a smile on his face that said he didn't believe them one bit. Sam couldn't help but let his mind wander to what kind of things were going on in their heads.

"Hey man! Read this." The two brothers caught up with the Emerson siblings and the boy with the magazine held out the comic to him and he read the cover. Claire read over her brother's shoulder. Destroy All Vampires. Vampires?

"I told you, I don't like horror comics." Sam explained to the boy.

"Think of it as a survival manual. There's our number on the back, and pray, you never need to call us." The darker haired boy said.

I'm gonna have to learn their names. Claire thought to herself.

"I'll pray, I never need to call you. Sure." Sam answered the two boys with a monotone voice. The two brothers walked away leaving Sam and Claire alone.

"Great friends you have Sammy." Claire shoved him slightly with a laugh.

"They're not my friends. Let's go C." Sam grabbed his sister's arm and the two made their way out of the shop.

Night time came quicker than expected for Claire Emerson. Luckily for her she was able to take a nap after Samuel and herself arrived back home. Michael had decided he was going back to the boardwalk to see if that girl was going to be there. Of course, he didn't say that but Claire's intuition did it for him. So as the caring younger sister, she decided to follow him until the mystery girl got there.

Michael and Claire had gotten separated and Claire had decided to pick up a churro and walk around. She had basically finished the Churro when she had seen her brother walking around with the mystery girl headed towards their bikes. Claire quickly finished up and started walking towards them when she heard loud motorcycles and saw the group she had seen the previous night park right in front of her brother.

When Claire had become just a few feet away she heard the blonde guy who seemed like the leader call out a name. "Star."

The mystery girl hesitated before walking back towards him and getting on the back of his bike. By now Claire had made her presence known by walking up right behind her brother and catching the eyes of the group in front of her.

"Hey." Michael whispered.

"Hey." She responded. "What's going on here?" Claire leaned her arm against her brother's shoulder.

"You're just in time." Paul smirked happily. "We're about to go for a ride." He laughed loudly.

David looked back to him with an unnoticeable glare and turned back to the Emerson siblings. He looked Claire up and down slowly causing her to roll her eyes. This guy didn't even know her and he was messing with her brother, obviously it would never happen.

"You know where Hudson's Bluff is? Overlooking the point?" David asked Michael.

"I can't beat your bike." Michael scoffed.

"You don't have to beat me Michael, you just have to try and keep up." David spoke.

Claire looked between Michael and the blonde dude before scoffing and turning around to get on her bike. "What are you doing?" Michael asked her.

"You're an absolute idiot if you think I'm letting you go with these people alone. Besides, it's just a ride right?" Claire cocked an eyebrow at the guy who just slowly nodded. "Let's go." She sat down on her bike and started it up.

One by one they all started driving off and Claire followed last. She of course hesitated when the five men went down some stairs but she kept going wanting to keep up.

They started driving through the sand on the beach and finally they were away from people but heading towards a lighthouse. Michael had caught up with the leader and the girl Star but Claire stayed behind. She had no reason to be a show off or challenge anyone but she started riding next to Paul who smirked at her before going faster.

The two started racing and they had passed up the other two boys with Michael and the the blondie in the lead. That was until Claire had seen Michael slide with his bike onto the ground causing her to stop abruptly and jump off of her bike letting it fall to the ground.

"Michael!" She called out. Paul grabbed her and pushed her towards the little boy that was on the back of one of the bikes while all of the men ran towards Michael and their friend.

"Just you." Michael was screaming at the guy and Claire looked over to the little boy.

"Are you okay?" She had asked him. "We were all going a little bit fast."

The boy just shrugged, "I'm used to it." Claire was taken aback by that statement, he was so young and going that fast was dangerous. Though it was probably their only means of transportation. "Can I tell you something?" He asked her.

"Sure." She nodded and he waved her closer until her ear was right next to his mouth.

"Don't drink the wine." She could barely hear what he said but she just looked confused.

"Huh?"

"Claire!" Paul jogged back over. "Come on. We're gonna head back to our secret hideout." He winked at her.

"Coming." She looked at the little boy who just turned his head away and waited for the dark haired guy to come back.

"Come on!" Paul called again and Claire quickly jogged back to her bike and followed the group to their hideout.
