In a void far away from earth....

"Big bro!"

"Big bro, it's so terrible!"

Franx pulled down his glasses, eyes narrowing at the huge figure of his little brother running to him with tears in his eyes.

"What is it Ashia? It better be important enough for you to disturb my sunbath." He grumbled with an annoyed expression, taking a sip of his cocktail.

His little brother gaped at him before blurting. "Truck~sama's escaped!"

Franx shot up, spitting out his juice and spilling it all over Ashia's teary face. "What!" He shot up, glaring at the whimpering giant.

"What did you do?!"

Ashia had never been so scared in his life. His big brother was always scary when he was angry, but he was never as angry as now.

"I-I heard his horn blowing and i-*sniff*-it sounded sad so I brought him out for a while. By the time I realised what was happening, he'd vanished."

The older brother grounded his teeth until anymore and one would think it'll turn into powder. He pulled at his hair in frustration.

"How can you be so stupid?! His horn?! Seriously!" He exclaimed.

"I-I'm sorry." Ashia muttered.

Franx moved past him, fingers smoothing down his hair. He bit his finger nail in thought.

"Uncle Methuselah promised us one wrong move and we're packing. You do realise what will happen when he finds out."

The giant dragged himself on the floor, hugging his big brother's legs. "Please help me big bro, I really like it here." He cried out.

Franx sighed. "Yeah no kidding. Watching souls get reborn in different worlds is way better than tou~san's work. Added to the fact that we don't have to do anything because the geezer's terrified we're gonna ruin something just makes it all the more worth it."

"So you'll help me?" Ashia beamed.

He smirked. "Who could say no to a face like that?"

'You looked like you wanted to punch this face a moment ago though' His brother sweatdropped.

"We need to act fast. No matter what happens, truck~sama must not hit anyone."

"Please tell me doctor, what's wrong with my daughter? She hasn't been out of the house in three months! The only time she comes out is to grab loads of food from the fridge and kitchen then disappear back into her room. She doesn't even talk to me. Is it depression?"

The man sighed and removed his glasses, staring into the poor woman's eyes. "Are you aware of the term Otaku?"

"What? No. Is it some kind of sickness?"

He stared in the direction of the daughter's bedroom. "Recently, a source of entertainment called anime has taken over the internet. It is more addicting than anything and causes people to lose interest in everything else, including the real world as a whole. People who devote their entire attention to such shows are called Otakus."

The mother placed her hands over her chest, sighing in relief. "If that's the case she'll just lose interest over time right? I mean, they're just cartoons."

The psychologist stiffened, eyes darting nervously to the stairs. "It'll be best if you don't take that statement lightly, ma'am. Avoid mentioning that around your daughter."

He shook his head. "And sadly, the anime world is growing larger and larger every day. It would be difficult to get her to focus on something else. It is possible, but chances are very slim. That's just how good the animes are."

"That's horrible." The woman whimpered, hand flying over her mouth.

He wrote down a few notes on his clip board and handed her his card. "You'll just have to live with it. But you can improve her habits a little bit. Try taking her out on errands and social gatherings, or go for walks in the park. That kind of environment will force her to interact with others and improve her social relationship a bit."

"This one hasn't updated in a while. I kinda wish they'll put all the episodes out there so we can get rid of the tension." She murmured, moving through the aisles and flipping through the anime web on her phone.

She paused and raised her face to the ceiling, grey eyes closed.

"Well, can't blame them for doing their business."

The 18 year old continued down the pathway, white sneakers tapping lowly on the tiled floor with her AOT hood pulled over her head. After checking once again to confirm all the items from the list had been picked, she headed for the counter.

As she rounded the corner, an eerie feeling made its way to her chest. It was almost as if someone or something was watching her. The teen took a few more steps before suddenly whipping around, eyes wide in fright.

A few customers gave her a weird look and she immediately bowed her head. There was no one behind her. She settled for paranoia but one thing kept bugging her.

'What's a truck doing in a supermarket?'
