Still Maleficent's P.O.V
That night for me was nothing but fitful slumber. At early dawn, I awoke soaked in cold sweat. Diaval, asleep in his human sized nest next to my bed. My stomach grumbled loudly. I quickly glanced over at Diaval to make sure I hadn't woken him. There he lay, chest rising and falling with every breath he took.
I smiled and scratched his head. He sighed when I hit his favorite spot, the nape of his neck. He snuggled his head into my hand as I continued to scratch his favorite spot. He yawned loudly and without manners, of course, as he stretched out and opened his eyes slowly and sleepily. "Good morning mistress, did you sleep alright? How do you feel? Would you like me to rub your belly again?" Questioned Diaval as he sat up to look at me. I simply chuckled at his act to try and please me so early in the morning.
My stomach gurgled painfully when it realized it could be rubbed. "Oh, why so early. I thought stomach aches weren't supposed to happen until afternoon." I said jokingly as I rubbed my complaining belly. I then realized maybe the clothes I was wearing weren't exactly helping. I reached back to try and undo my corset but my stomach gurgled more painful than it had before, causing me to grasp it and rub it to calm it down. Luckily for me, Diaval saw my struggling and decided to try and help. "Mistress, would you like me to help?" asked my smart bird as he walked over to me. I looked at him with hesitation plain on my face and deep in my eyes.
My stomach gurgled again and I nodded. "C-can you un-undo m-my cor-corset pl-pl-please."I stuttered as my stomach churned and gurgled. He nodded hesitantly but sat on my bed and did his best to undo the knot that kept my corset together with shaking nervous hands. When it loosened around my figure I knew he had it undone. I carefully took it off and threw it nonchalantly to the side. I laid back down and sighed. "That feels so much better. Thank you Diaval, you're a very good bird." I complemented Diaval as I rubbed my sore stomach. It started to gurgle again.
I simply looked at Diaval with a pained expression. He knew what I wanted and started to rub my gurgling belly. He covered me slightly with my blanket as he kept rubbing my belly. Soon there was a strange knock on the wall by the doorway to my room that was shielded with a purple-lavender cloth. Not long after the little knock, a little curly long blonde haired head stuck itself past the cloth. "Godmother, are you decent? Can I come in?" Asked the little blonde. "Yes Beastie, you can come in little one." I said as the little blonde girl came through the cloth a smile on her face which quickly faded when her eyes landed on me.
The little blonde princess came rushing to me soon after. "Godmother what's wrong? Are you ok?" Asked the curious little princess. I felt a strange tug on my heart when I thought about how my curious little beastie would fall into a deep sleep like death in just two years. 'All because of me' I thought to myself looking at the princess in front of me. 'Poor girl doesn't even know what's ahead of her and that she's a princess or that it's my fault. Yet she worries over me.' I thought to myself as I reached my hand up to cup her little cheek that was just lightly colored a light rose pink.
"I'm alright beastie, just have a little bit of a belly ache." I explained to dear little Aurora. She let out a sigh of relief and grabbed my pale hand in hers. It somewhat warmed my heart to know she cared. "Well, when you're feeling better can we go see the water fairies?!" Asked the forever curious little blonde princess. I chuckled at her childishness but nodded. "Yes beastie, when I'm feeling better we can go see the water fairies." I said, gripping her hand a little.
Suddenly, the wind picked up the cloth covering the window, which Diaval put up, blew down. All I could see were creatures flying toward the Moors, and flying quickly. Close behind them were dark storm clouds. A pitch black light shining from them. My stomach clenched, and it had nothing to do with the pain in my stomach. It had everything to do with the dark creatures flying toward us. Aurora screamed and clung to me tightly.
I held her close, rage boiling in my veins as hate for the creatures who came ever closer to my precious Moors. 'How DARE they scare my little beastie! They shall PAY for this!' I raged in my head as I held Aurora tighter. My wing stumps twitched behind me as they ached for me to fly right up to those creatures and DESTROY such things who dare to take the smile from the sweet princess's face. Alas the very girl I want to protect is the daughter of the man who not only stole and broke my heart but also stole the very wings I need. My wing stumps twitched again painfully. I let a cry of frustration slip from my blood red rose lips. "Mistress what are we going to do?" "I don't know Diaval, I don't know." I said holding Aurora tighter. As far as we knew, we were doomed.
