💮 Chapter 38: The couple of the party

Gu Yansheng turned his head back impatiently, he was surprised at the sight of the man walking down the stairs.

Different from his previous short hair, his hair was slightly rolled up tied with a hairband matching the slim blue suit, every line of his body was beautifully highlighted, which obviously was particular attractive to everyone, revealing a touch of innocence.

When Wen Niannan walked down the stairs, he stood a few steps away, just in front of Gu Yansheng. He caught him staring with stupor, confusion appeared in his eyes, he raised his glass to him: "Happy birthday."

Gu Yansheng broke the spell. He felt sour because of the way he was dumbfounded by him just now, he took the glass drinking the wine in one sip.

Seeing that Gu Yansheng didn't walk away indifferently like the past year's birthday party, Wen Niannan felt very happy.

"I...I prepared a gift, do you want it?" He said in what sound like a whisper gathering all the courage to say that, still he couldn't hear what he said.

"What?"

Wen Niannan took out a box from behind, he carefully said: "I prepared a gift. It's a watch. The brand you've always liked."

Gu Yansheng intended to refuse but he remembered that many people around him were watching at them. So he reached out taking it.

Wen Niannan was surprised that he actually accepted the gift. He had already planned to be rejected.

That watch was originally bought for the wedding anniversary, it took a lot of energy and effort from Wen Niannan. On the back of the watch was Gu Yansheng's name engraved by him.

Just as Wen Niannan was about to speak, out of a sudden there was the sound of a piano in the hall, the guests walked towards the hall one after another. He turned his head to look at Gu Yansheng, only to see Gu Yansheng's eyes glow after hearing the sound of the piano, he pushed him away, walking fast.

He didn't know if there were more pianos in the house; the face of the player couldn't be seen clearly because of the angle.

When he saw the piano, he felt something familiar about it. He tried to look at the person playing the piano, but all he could only see was a fuzzy profile through the light.

The more he listened to it, the more he felt that something was wrong. That song was... so well-known...

A thought crossed Wen Niannan's mind for a moment...LS...

It was Shen Luoan...

Sitting in front of the piano, Shen Luoan was playing smoothly with slender fingers.  The intoxicating sound of the piano was attracting everyone around him.

That was...his melody... how could he get his song?

Wen Niannan listened in perplexity to the well-known melody for his ears, turned his head to look at Gu Yansheng on the side, only to saw that he was looking at Shen Luoan with a smile, the hatred in his eyes was beyond negligible.

Until the sound of the piano stopped, everyone reacted.

Shen Luoan stood up to bow, turned his head, smiling he stretched out his hand to Gu Yansheng: "Yan Sheng, would you play with me?"

Gu Yansheng held his hand with love and sat down, they looked at each other with a smile: "Okay."

The piano sounded again, but this time it was more powerful than before because the protagonist of the birthday party was playing too.

When the people around heard that Gu Yansheng had agreed to play, they gasped. They heard somewhere that he never played the piano again when his cherished one disappeared. Could it be that the one who Mr. Gu loved the most was him?

"Who is that man? Could it be that he is the one for who Mr. Gu suffered?"

"I think the same. No one saw the face of the lost lover."

"Will this be the missing lover?"

"This piece is really good, I have never heard it before."
