Chapter 1: Encounter

Hiro's pov:

"Another day and so another chance" that's what Goro said when he woke up. "had a nice sleep?"

"yeah, only quite short"

Goro looked at me with a concerned look. "You tell me that quite often lately, is something bothering you?"

I looked at him and for some reason it seemed like he knew, he knew that about me even though I didn't even know myself. "No, I'm feeling good"
I bet he thinks that I'm being crazy but so be it. With those words I got up and got dressed, ready to go to the mess hall. "You coming?" I asked.

"Yeah I'll be there in a minute, you go ahead" He smiled.

So I did as he said.
Upon entering the mess hall I saw Miku and Zorome fighting over something little, as usual. I'm still happy that they haven't changed.

"Goodmorning Hiro, you can sit here"

"Goodmorning Ichigo, did you sleep well? " I asked whilst seating myself in front of her.

"Yeah I did, although Ikuno had to wake me up early"

"Hey! I was just testing out my board" Said Ikuno

"Yeah at 6:30 am, I don't need a festival in my room while I'm sleeping"

I smiled and laughed to myself seeing those 2 girls have a little fight over it. At that moment Goro joins us and seats himself next to Ichigo.

"Ahh my favourite cereal" He takes a bowl, gets some cereal and then pours some milk over it. "It's been a while since I have been able to eat these" He says with his mouth full and gets a little elbow punch from Ichigo.

"Where are your manners Goro?"

"Gomen-ne" Still saying this with his mouth full.

"Ughh you're hopeless at times you know" Ichigo looks at Goro and giggles.

After 15 minutes the bell rang and we all got up, ready for our first class.

"Uggh why does a subject like math even exist?" I didn't have to look back to even know it was Zorome. "What do we even use it for anyway?"

"Well if you would've paid attention last time you might've known" said mitsuru "Professor Hachi explicitly said that the formulas we learn these days are used in architecture"

Goro walks closer to Zorome and whispers "But someone is always distracted by 2 pigtails huh?" he smirks.

"Nani? W-what would make you say that?"

"Oh please don't act like you don't know" Goro winks

Zorome goes silent and gestures for Goro and Mitsuru to shut up about it. They both crack a little laugh but no one hears it.

We arrived at our class and got ready for the session. As usual, Professor Hachi started off with last week's theory to make sure we were all  paying attention. But this lesson felt different to me. I couldn't focus, and started to develop a headache. Once we're halfway through the session I asked Professor Hachi if I could be excused for a moment.

"What's wrong Hiro?" He asked

"Can I please be excused for a couple minutes please? I'm not feeling so good"

"Yeah sure, but don't make it too long" He said

I stood up and walked out, and in the corner of my eye I could see Goro's concerned look before I left the room. While walking towards the bathroom it became worse, and I heard a voice.

"you're inferior and you fear me"

I looked up and saw that the hallway was dark, there was no light. Only a dark, black figure of a ghost or a demon stood there . The voice spoke again

"So you finally see me, perfect. That means I can finally consume you"

The figure got closer. I couldn't do anything, I felt pressure from all sides like it was trying to squash me into a ball. As the creature tried to grasp me with its black shady arms I felt something from inside. A sense of comfort and aid. And suddenly I Stood up. The creature stopped in its path and I could see it clearly now. A shady demon-like figure with black skin and golden eyes.

"so, you're not alone" The voice said. "That's a shame"

Right as it said that I felt power flowing through my body. A blue flash and then, everything faded black.

2 days later I woke up in the hospital wing of the academy and saw Ichigo sitting on a bench reading a book.
"Ichi-go"

"Hiro! You finally woke up" She ran up to me and hugged me "I thought I lost you.."

"What happend?" I asked
