As the sun dipped, below it a few rays made their way through the uneven silhouette of the jagged mountain range of the west. The underbelly of the dragon was like a scaly mirror, doing random Brownian movements in the rays that were now below it.
Noah knew this as a sign, the people of the past all knew dragons. But they had disappeared. Yet, something about them had been passed on through stories that were shared and through books. So Noah recognized it, although he could only see it below.
His heart was pounding in a strange way, what he saw was astonishing. It was new, it was exciting! As the dragon got closer, his excitement was laced in fear. This broke his trance and he looked for cover.
The dragon wasn't as magnificent as you would have expected. It just looked like any giant creature, ungainly. But what came after the dragon was a spectacle that was impossible not to hold in great awe.
It appeared as if the dragon was dragging a velvet cover behind it. As it passed by, the sky became darker. Moments later, stars shone through like sparkle-dust on the velvet.
Noah hadn't looked up at the sky this way since he was a child. He didn't have to, when he peered into the tiny device in his hand it told him everything that he asked. In that magical moment, it dawned upon him that the sky in its vastness also answered questions. But this time he couldn't read the answers, he had to feel them.
As he pondered on the questions, the clouds began to build, and the curtain fell down on this grand show much too soon.
