As Uben put the book aside he realised it was quite late. He had been reading for so long that his eyes hurt. His interest in reading human behaviour meant he had a keen interest in forgotten art of hypnosis. Reading this book reminded him of that. Had the old bearded man in an indirect way induced a trance so that they could discover this new thing he wanted them to discover? He was intrigued by this story. He had heard that the vague language was one way to get people into a trance. As his analytical mind worked overtime, he found it difficult to slow down so that he could sleep. He got up and had a cold shower. As the cold droplets hit his skin, his mind's endless ruminations came to an abrupt halt; it jolted him back to the present, from his own internal reverie. He was here and now.
