The day was coming to a close and I had to get ready for the party and even though I was pretty tired I thought that partying would help me get my mind off of everything. I grabbed a couple of towels and headed to my bathroom which thankfully I also got my own bathroom so I got all the privacy I needed. I turned the water to a warm temperature and cleaned myself up, I walked out of the shower and headed to my mirror which was covered in steam. I wiped it away so I could see myself and I looked at my back to look at the little tattoo I had. It was tiny and on my shoulder blade, it was black and took the form of a little snake. I got this tattoo to cover up a scare I got three years ago, and I decided to go with a snake because it represented who I was and it was one of my favourite animals. Snakes are so misunderstood and people don't understand where they come from, they take on a glance at a snake and shake in fear and never look back when they walk away. I finished gazing in the mirror and put on some rose body lotion and headed back to my bedroom. I threw on my dress I was going to wear and styled my hair effortlessly. I sat down at my vanity and did my usual makeup and added some winged eyeliner and glitter eyeshadow. I grabbed a pair of silver sparkly heels then went to sit down on my bed.
The party was going to start soon but I just wanted to spare as many moments as I could to collect my thoughts. I pulled a satin back from my bedside draw and united the drawstring to reveal a red velvet case. I pulled out the case and opened it to reveal a set of twin daggers. They were beautiful and I was in awe whenever I looked at them. The blade was shiny and smooth and I could see my reflection looking back at me. The handle felt cold once it touched my skin, it felt rough and I wanted to stare at them all day. The handle was silver decorated with emerald gems and engraved with beautiful patterns. Near the end of the handle, there was an engraving that said, "emeralds like the snake's eyes." I put the daggers back in the case, closed the satin bag and carefully placed it back in the draw. I left my room and was about to head down to the party but Cristian dragged me to Avery's room.
I walked in and everyone was in here all dressed up and ready to drink their asses off. I walk over to Esther, "What are we doing here? Shouldn't we go downstairs to the party?" "Well, we actually have a surprise for you!" She grabbed my shoulder and made me close my eyes and face the other way so I was not facing my friends. All I could hear is shuffling and the sound of their heels and shoes walking across the hardwood floor. Avery turns me around, "alright open your eyes." I open my eyes and I see a big box sitting in the middle of the room. It was decorated with wrapping paper, had a big golden bow on top and it was as tall as my mid-section and as wide as Avery's desk. "Wait what is this? My birthday is not till the 11th." Savannah leaned against the box and tapped on it a couple of times, "Well, consider this as an early birthday gift then." I flash them all a confused look and walked towards the box, I ripped off the bow and wrapping paper and cut the tape that was keeping the box closed. I opened the box and took out the layer of tissue paper, "OH MY GOD!"
