I knew someone or something was down there. I've know for years. I 6 when I asked my dad what's down there. He told me it was all he had left besides me. I didn't really understand.

It's been 4 years. I am 9. I still come home from school and do homework but I get told to more. I have chores.

My dads not home this rare but it's time I take my chance to find out what's going on behind the door.

I knock at the door to get whoever's attention. Someone or something knocked back. I jumped slightly.

I spoke up though. "Kon'nichiwa?" I questioned. "Hello. Speak English. I know you can." A shy voice said.

It was a young girl. Just a child, spoke from the other side of the door.

I heard my dads car pull up. "I'm kayden. Ill get your name one day. I have to go." I spoke and hurried away as my dad walked through the front door. I went back to doing what I was doing.

That night I couldn't sleep. They girl was on my mind. I didn't tell anyone about her. Not even my dad.

It explained why my dad brought food down but I couldn't tell him I knew.
