McKayla woke up the next morning to her phone ringing. She rolled over and looked at it and saw that her mother was calling her.
"Hello?" she answered rubbing her head
"Hello, sweetheart!" her mother said loudly, making McKayla pull the phone away from her ear
"How are you doing?" her mother then asked
"Fine" McKayla said
"You sure?" her mother said
"Yes mom" McKayla reassured her mother
"Okay. When are you coming home?" her mother asked her
"A few weeks" McKayla told her mother, sitting up in her bed
"Good. I treally miss having you home! By the way, have you called Robert at all? He says you haven't and he's worried about you" her mother told McKayla
"I was planning too before I came home" said McKayla
"Okay. Well, I have to go shopping. See you when you get home" her mother said
"Yep. Bye. Love you" McKayla said
"Love you too. Bye" her mother said
McKayla hung up and flopped back down on her bed. She hasn't spoken to Robert since she left home. Not knowing what her excuse is going to be, she sighed and got back up and dressed. She walked to the café and grabbed a bite to eat then went to the library to study. When she walked into the library, she saw a group of teachers gathering in one of the quiet rooms. McKayla walked over to a student and looked at her
"Was geht? (What's going on?)" she asked the student
The student shrigged and they both stared at the group of teachers. Just then the intercome came on
"ACHTUNG STUDENTEN! Treffpunkt: in der Aula! (ATTENTION STUDENTS! PLEASE GATHER IN THE ASSEMBLY HALL!)" said a female over the intercome
McKayla and the student looked at each otehr, shurgged, and went to the assembly hall. McKayla took a seat next to her friend Emily, who was also was an American student studying abroad
"Em...you know what's going on?" she asked Emily
"Nope, but I think it's some teacher thing" Emily said
McKayla wondered as the head mistress walked onto the stage
"Good Afternoon Studenten. Ich habe eine kurze Mitteilung zu machen . Aus der Schule ist Gastgeber der jährlichen Lehrerkonferenz . Ich möchte den Lehrern die Veranstaltung vorstellen: Dr. Anna Adler , unsere eigenen Professor Alois Horowitz, und den ganzen Weg aus den USA ... UCLA's Professor Robert Downey (Good Afternoon students. I have a quick announcement to make. Out school will be hosting the annual teacher conference. I would like to introduce the teachers hosting the event: Dr. Anna Adler, our own Professor Alois Horowitz, and the whole way from America...UCLA's Professor Robert Downey)" announced the head mistress
McKayla's eyes got big as she watched Robert walk onto the stage along with the other teachers
"Ich verlange, dass, wenn Sie in diese drei Lehrer laufen, um zu zeigen, sie zu respektieren und ihnen zeigen, um, wenn sie verloren gehen. Danke. Entlassen! (I demand that when you run into these three teachers, to show them respect and show them around if they get lost. Thank you. Dismissed!)" the head mistrees then said
McKayla along with the other students, got up and walked out of the assembly hall. McKayla the quickly made her way up to her room and sat down on her bed, completely in shock.
"Now what do I do?" she thought
