Chapter 2 Kiss Me

My family, Blue, and I were all sitting around the dinner table eating our dinner. Well, everyone else was eating, I was to busy sulking about what happened earlier. What had happen was me and papa bear rushed outside all cool like cucumbers, catching the boys completely off guard. I took off towards Matt like the ninja I am, when I tripped over the football my brother threw at my legs. As I was falling, papa bear was being tackled into the pool by Blue and Aaron.

Once I hit the ground my water gun went flying into the air and the water balloons that were attached to me popped, covering me in the icky gunk my dad filled them with.

“What a poor attempt of an ambush, I mean you could’ve done better than that, don’t you think?” Matt said standing over me. Suddenly Aaron and Blue, both soaking wet may I add, appeared next to Matt, flanking him. Aaron handed Matt my discarded water gun, while Aaron held onto the one my dad used to have and Blue was wielding the water balloons that also used to be my fathers.

“Heeeeeyyyyy guuuuuyyyyssss, don’t you think we could just talk this out?” I bargained. They all looked at me in disbelief, then shook their heads ‘no’.

“No, I’m sorry Sophia, we can’t do that.” Aaron smirked. The next thing I know I’m being covered in chocolate syrup and being pelted by water balloons. The whole time I was being assaulted, I was watching my dad crawl across the lawn and sneak back into the house. He didn’t even attempt to help me.

“Daddy! Help meeeeee! Pleeeeaaaasssseeee!” I cried out, hoping that he would have a change of heart and help his little girl, but nooo.

“Sorry Soph, but your on your own.” he said running into the house, leaving me to fend for myself.  To think that I thought he loved me, well I now know that he doesn’t. I swear he is the worse sidekicks/fathers I’ve ever seen.

So now here we are, eating dinner. It took me hours to get that gunk off of me, and the worst part of the whole situation is that my brothers had taken a picture of me and posted it on face book and explained why I looked the way I did. So to say I was beyond embarrassed would be an understatement.

So there you have it, #5: fail at an ambush and have your own weapons turned against you by the enemy. Then there was #6: be humiliated by your brothers, when they post a horrendous photo of you covered in gunk on face book and explain to the world why you look the way you do. I made a conclusion right at this moment that today was definitely not my day.

“Sophie, why aren’t you eating your dinner?” my mom asked concerned.

“Are you still upset about earlier?” my dad then asked me.

“Yes father, that would be the reason. You abandoned me out there! Left me for dead, to fend for myself!  I thought you loved me, but I see now that I was sadly mistaken!” I declared crossing my arms over my chest. I could hear my brother’s snickering from across the table but I ignored them.

“It’s ok Sophie, you’ll do better next time.” Blue said ruffling my hair. I smacked his hand away and glared at him as I tried to smooth down my hair.

“Don’t touch me Christopher, I do not want your greasy fingers in my hair.” I nearly shouted.

“Hey, hey, hey, don’t get snappy at my because your bad at trying to ambush people.

“Shut up you fat headed gorilla snot baby.” I throw a piece of chicken at him. I swear he is such a stupid monkey face! How was it even possible for me to hate him yet like him so much at the same time. I let out a long sigh. Life can be so confusing sometimes.
