HERNAN LUGO WAS ALWAYS AN ENIGMA. Having been born into an unstable family did that to people. Since he was granted his family's gift, his parents trained him. They were always paranoid, and he guesses they had a right to be. Ever since he was a little kid, he never stayed in one place too long. His kind were not welcome anywhere, he really wasn't safe anywhere.

Brujos, people would whisper.

So he ran. Even when his parents had passed away, and he was more than well equipped to defend himself, he still ran. The urge to flee never left him. He was brought up that way, and old habits died hard. From Chile, to Mexico, to the different States, Hernan always ran.

Until, one day, he didn't.

He met someone that made him want to stay, to ignore the urge to run, defying his primal instincts. A man with the most gorgeous blue-grey eyes he'd ever seen. His name, Stephen Strange. Even if Stephen was an egotistical asshole, he made Hernan feel alive, and that was a feeling Hernan hadn't experienced ever. Yes, he was still living and breathing, but it was always surviving.

So, Stephen wormed his way into Hernan's heart, and in turn, Hernan wormed himself into Stephen's own heart.

They weren't the most conventional couple, if they could even be called that. Stephen's attitude and Hernan's harshness would always end up in an argument, slammed doors and angry tears. But they would always come back to each other, would always share soft touches and chaste kisses in the middle of the night, murmuring apologies and promises of being better.

Until one day, Stephen pushed too far. And suddenly, Hernan's urge to run overpowered him and he just dropped everything and left. It hurt him, but he couldn't be with Stephen anymore. Their unconventional relationship and Hernan's many secrets would only hurt them in the future so he ran, sparing them both from broken hearts when they would eventually be in too deep.

Hernan tried to keep tabs on Stephen, but suddenly he was captured by Hydra and his priorities changed. He was able to escape their clutches, running away was his specialty anyways, but not without new additions to his life. Not only was he a magic wielder, he was now a child of the moon. And he hated himself for it, for having another secret to keep, another reason to keep running.

One day, while he was in the middle of planning where to go next, his life is completely turned upside down, and he isn't sure if it was for the better or not. All Hernan knew is that he wasn't ready to face the ghosts of his past.
