"I heard that she's going to forfeit."
"Of course she will! I mean, who actually believes that there's a monster on site? The councillors would have sent us home by now if there were any chance we could get hurt... right?"
"Would they? They didn't seem too bothered about the wild horses running around the island. One even bit Lilith the other day and Ms Bunco told her to walk it off."
"Then what was all the fuss with forest about? That stupid chant gave me nightmares for weeks!"
"Did you forget about what Ashely said already? Those chants aren't real; none of the stories they tell us are."
"It would be best if both of them just gave this up already. I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't even go into the stupid woods."
"No, they definitely went in. I saw Ramona coming back to her dorm at like, three in the morning. There was dirt on her hoodie and everything!"
"And the other one – the one with the weird hat, think her name was Eve or something, she looked half dead at breakfast. Poor girl, how did she even get roped into this mess?"
"Jesus, what happened in there? Did they run into a bear or something?"
"Hopefully.
What? Don't look at me like that. Something must've happened – why else would Ashely drag us to edge of the woods?"
"Would be disappointing otherwise. What do you think Ashely's going to make them do if she wins?"
"I heard they're going to take her cleanup shift for the rest of the summer."
"Booooring. Think bigger. I heard they're going to egg the councillors' flat and then get caught. On purpose."
"Nobody knows where they sleep!"
"Do they even sleep?"
"Guys, shut up already!
We're here."
