champange problems
(from the other girl's pov)

You always told me it was over
When we start the new chapter
Ruined trust or rancid rumors
I'm not sure which is worse

Because you're still stuck on your old pain
She's in your dreams 'til these days
And messing you and I, babe
Champagne problems

My picture in your wallet
Her mem'ries in your locket
Spent my days wond'ring 'bout your
Champagne problems

I told your family for the reason
I couldn't understand
Your sister told me all about her
Now I'm alone in bar and bawling

You never really let go
Now both our hearts are hollow
You poured your all in those years
Champagne problems

Your first love slipped, you lost it
Made pact with me, you broke it
And now we're soaked in all these
Champagne problems

Her Midas touch, you still long for it
December ends, nothing's been cured
"That love was once a mad one"
Your town's the witness of yours and her tale

Slept with me on my satin bed
Don't think it's me who's in your head
Hope soon we'll have the nerve to
Talk the things that break us in two

One for the money, two for the show
You never were ready, but you gave us a "Go"
Sometimes I just don't know the answer
When someone asks how things with you were

"You would've made such a lovely bride
What a shame he's trapped in the past," they said
Because you don't think I'm the one
Who'll patch up your tapestry that she shred

Should've known you better
Your wounds would heal, no never
Crestfallen on the landing
With champagne problems

Took my pic off your wallet
Kept her smiles in your locket
Guess now I'm done with all your
Champagne problems

Guess now I'm done with all your
Champagne problems

Disclaimer: This is inspired by champagne problems by Taylor Swift from her ninth studio album, evermore. I purposely used some same words from the song to show the connections between the two.  This is written from the "other girl's" point of view.

Author's Note:

Yes, I am a huge Taylor Swift fan!!! 🥂 And you would notice this on my stories as I love incorporating her songs on some of the chapters of my books! 💓

champagne problems is my favorite track from evermore, Taylor's latest album as of this posting. It's a song about a girl whose long time college sweetheart proposed to her but she declined him and broke his heart. 💔 I really love this song! It's so beautiful yet so heartbreaking! I couldn't stop from listening to this track since the album's release last December. Everything was written so perfectly and so vividly and this really hits real hard! Taylor is a lyrical genius, that's no doubt! 😍😍😍

I am so inspired and so into this song that I decided to rewrite it! I have seen/heard so many rewritten versions of this track from the narrative of the man the protagonist was singing to in YouTube and they are all so beautiful. Most of them are about how he wasn't still able to move on even though he's now with another girl.

But then it got me thinking, how about the "other girl"? What would she feel about it? It must've have been so painful for her to know that her man still belonged to someone from his past. And that really sucks, too! And so, I wrote this one to show her own pov.

I suggest you listen to the original song, which is really amazing, if you haven't heard it yet and you can also search for the rewritten versions (man's pov) of this on YouTube so you would really feel and grasp the concept of this. 😍

Hope you enjoyed and liked it! 💓💓💓

PS. I can't sing so instead of uploading a video on YT singing this one, I decided to post it here so I can still share it with you!

Xoxo! 😘
