JUNIPER DIDNT KNOW WHY she walked next to the boy. She didn't know why she even followed him in the first place— maybe she was still rattled about what happened; but if anything, she'd want to get away from Corbyn. Actually, she did. She very much did. But the fact that she had no clue where her friends were nor did she know whether or not the guys would find her again, she thought sticking with Corbyn would be her best bet; despite of how much she hated it.

She didn't say anything to him after she had forced out a thank you. She didn't even want to say that either but it was for the sake of being a good person. Maybe a pinch of her— just the smallest cell in her body— had actually been slightly relieved he was there for her. But she wouldn't ever say that out loud.

Corbyn was on the edge the moment she walked beside him. He doesn't remember the last time this had happened— the last time she had willingly been this close to him without wanting to punch his face. Maybe she did want to punch his face; he wouldn't know. She was unpredictable sometimes.

The boy wanted to talk to her now that he finally got the chance. He didn't like the awkward silence between them. But, the problem was, he wasn't sure how to start a conversation. He constantly looked down at her as she looked everywhere but in his direction. To him, the moment was extremely uncomfortable. To her, the moment didn't even exist. To her, it was like he wasn't even there.

However, occasionally, she would feel his gaze planted on her. She could see him open and close his mouth trying to say something from the corner of her eye. She did her best to ignore it— the last thing either of them needed was another bad conversation. But eventually, the girl couldn't take it anymore.

She sighed, snapping her attention to him abruptly, making his jump slightly. He tried to play it off cool; as if he wasn't staring at her— it failed. "What?"

"What?" He rushed out in panic. The boy's eyes were wide as he tried to find his words, "nothing I'm just—"

He stuttered under her impatient gaze. She gave him a pointed look as he continued to speak. "I'm just wondering why you're like—"

"Walking with you?" She interrupted. He nodded subtly, making her shrug. "I mean I don't have to—"

"No, stay." He said quickly, suddenly clearing his throat as his cheeks tinted pink, "I mean you can stay... I was just wondering saying as you kinda hate me"

Juniper shrugged. She didn't know why she was there. She couldn't just say she was scared— which she wasn't. The girl had already lost enough of her dignity, she didn't need to lose more. "I figured since we're both looking for the group anyway..." Juni started as they walked. Her eyes switched to his face for a split second before she looked ahead of her again, "I guess it would be easier if we just stuck together. But it doesn't mean I want to be here"
