Once we had gotten back to my quarters Tré had found himself sitting quite comfortably on my bed. Still, however not talking to me like he was. It was odd how quickly he just changed his attitude, Way too odd. Had I said something? Had he....caught on? I decided the best course of action was to just ask him about it. 

"Hey um...Tré?, Do you mind if I ask you something?" He looked up at me while taking off his boot.

"No not at all, What is it?" I was nervous to ask, I didn't know how to phrase or what exactly I was really asking, I just wanted answers to this very abrupt change. 

"Just after our talk, y'know you've been acting differently. Did I say something? Is it something I've done?" He just shook his head looked down while he removed his jacket.

"No. Nothing you've done at all. It's me who I am upset with. I'm upset with my..um well, feelings.."

"Oh." I was relieved to know it was nothing I had done but I was still confused and wanting more answers. "What are these...Feelings?"

"Nothing I could discuss with you." He snapped. I moved back a bit stunned by his sudden snap. "I'm sorry, Just leave me be for now. I will still be protecting you but I do not want to talk with you at this time." Any relief I had was very much gone now, I just wanted to curl up in my bed and cry. How could something coming from a person I just met hurt so much.

We both changed and got into our separate beds. 

I just laid there curled up wanting to cry but knowing that I can not. How could he snap like that? I thought we were friends. Those good feelings of butterflies and heart flutters turned into sadness and hurt in an instant, He doesn't even want to talk to me? What could have even happened in such a short amount of time? 

I just laid there until I could fall asleep. 

It was the next morning. I was to meet with Duchess Adrienne.

I sluggishly moped out of bed and picked out a suit and got dressed quickly. Tré was already up and waiting for me. "Hello, Prince Billie Joe." Not even Atticus or Sir Michael calls me Billie Joe. I gave him a nod and continued out the door to the main hall where Duchess Adrienne would be. I hope she can make me better during this time. I don't think she wants to be wed either. I mean hopefully, She didn't seem like the marriage type she was normally a free spirit who could do things for herself and didn't need any help from others. She always outshined me in almost everything but the musical arts.

As we walked down into the main hall I saw Adrienne already standing there talking with my mother in a beautiful gown. Once she had noticed me her eyes lit up and her smile grew large. I opened up my arms to embrace her. "It has sure been awhile Duchess."

"Oh! Please Billie Call me Adie." She smiled once more. She gestured her arm for me to join her and Mother's conversation. But once I joined it was mostly just them talking and me standing there while Tré watched very close behind. It gave me chills how cold and stern he looked. In the little time, I've known him I could have never thought he could ever look this... cold. "And who might this gentleman be who follows you around?" Adie asked me. 

"This is my Knight, Sir Tr-... Frank. Sir Frank." Tré came forward and bowed before her.

"Well, it is sure lovely to meet your acquaintance, Sir Tré Frank." She smirked at me before smiling at Tré. Tré already was not looking please but when I talked to Adie or she made me laugh or smile his face grew colder. I didn't understand it. 

"We should all go to the garden for Tea." My mother suggested with a smile. She started walking off and we all followed right after her. It still baffled me how my family just went about their everyday lives like there wasn't some maniac out there writing us letters about they were to kill us and take the throne. A few more guards are not going to make the problem go away. It is still there and prevalent. The last letter we got was a day before Tré arrived.  

It spoke about bringing the kingdom into a dictatorship with no government and just one supreme leader. It horrified me, I do care about our people. I do not want them to live in such hell such as that.

We all sat at the table set up in the garden. The garden had beautiful views all around and many different flowers my mother had all picked out. The sun was shining just perfectly where you could see Tré's eyes shimmer in it. Atticus and other servants brought out tea and pastries for us all. I was able to catch up with Adie a lot but I couldn't help but keep noticing Tré and just thinking about him. I just wanted to talk to him.

"Would you excuse me?" I got up from my seat and walked up onto the castle terrace knowing Tré would have to follow. 

"Why are we up here?" He questioned. 

"Because I'm still confused about why you're just suddenly acting like this. I do not understand" I looked over the terrace down at my mother and Adie.

"Why do you not go for her?" I looked over at him. 

"I mean she's my type but she is just a friend." He seemed to relax a little. "Besides I have my eye out for someone else. He seemed to get tense again.

"So whos this lucky lady." He sounded angry.

"I do not kiss and tell." 

"So you've kissed?" He looked away from me and down at the garden.

"Not quite but I would like to one day." We both turned to look at each other, the sun catching his eyes perfectly again. I wanted him to lean in and kiss me so badly.

He moved closer to me leaning in as our lips are about to meet for the first time.

Then a scream. We both moved out of our lovey moment to see if the scream had come from mother. It had Her and Her knight were practically outnumbered.

Before running down the stairs Tré passed me a dagger while he pulled out his sword. "Stay back please I do not want you getting in any harm." I watched as he rushed down into battle, Slicing at any opponent that approached him. But there were too many for just him and Mother's knight. 

I had to do something.
