Promises

Chapter 2

        He stopped walking and faced me.

        "Okay, well my dad told me this morning that he is being sent back to the states and that we leave the day after my birthday."

        I looked up at him. He stood there staring at me.

        "Why didn't you tell me earlier Lex?"

        "Because I wanted today to be fun and not all sad. And today was amazing. I couldn't have asked for a better day."

        I started to cry. I came back into reality and it all hit me at once. I was leaving and it was too much. Luke grabbed me and pulled me into a hug. 

        "It's going to be okay. It's not like we're not ever going to see each other again. I can visit over the summer."

        I chuckle a little. " Will Liz really let you go all the way too America just to visit me?"

        "You know she would go with and yes she would because she absolutely loves you" he laughs and the sound comforts me.

        "I'm really gonna miss you Luke."

        "I'm going to miss you too. A lot.

        We just stood there looking over the ocean for what seemed like hours before he walked me home.

        The next few weeks went by fast. Even my birthday flew by. Luke gave me this beautiful necklace that had "Miles apart Friends forever" ingraved in it. (Picture included in media). Michael and Calum started a cake fight which ended with everyone all sticky and laughing untill our sides hurt. The cake actually matched Michael's hair perfectly.
