I walk around town for a bit, not wanting to go home to get ready just yet. I quietly walk around, looking at all the people talking whilst walking. A bookstore across the street caught my eye, it was darker than the rest of the other stores, giving off a really comforting feeling. I run across the street, barely missing carriages. I open the dark door to see a cosy looking room. the lights were quite low and everything was made of a dark oak wood. The isles of books went on for a while. I looked around at all the books, there was so many different genres and authors I haven't even heard of. "Why hello there." A voice said. I turned to see a young man with circular glasses looking at me. He wore a vest over a white shirt with pants that stopped at his knees. His hair was a dark brown and his eyes were hazel.

I looked at him awkwardly, my e/c eyes meeting his. "Uh, hi." I say. "You looking for a certain book or author?" He asked, putting his quill down. "Umm, no I'm just having a small look around." I said with a small smile. "Oh, okay. Well, that isle is horror if you're interested." He said, looking back at his paper. I nod and walk down the isle, seeing many titles that were unfamiliar to me. I sigh out, realising I didn't bring any money. "Maybe when I get payed I'll come back..." I whispered to myself. I walk towards the door with a sad look on my face. "Leaving already?" He asked. I looked over at him. "Uh, yeah sorry. I have stuff I've got to do, but I'll probably be back." I said, opening the door and leaving. The man chuckled to himself, continuing to write on the paper.

I rush back home to get ready for the ball. I opened the bakery door to see my mum not at the counter or in the kitchen. I walk upstairs and knock on her door. I hear rustling from her room, then she suddenly opened it. She wore a long purple dress with golden flower patterns all over it. It was made out of mesh like material and was sleeveless. She wore a piece of lavender cloth that went around her arms. She had her hair half up-half down and it had a flower in the tied bit. Her makeup was sweet and simple. She looked at me. "I thought the meeting was only for a bit?" She said obviously annoyed. "I know, I'm sorry. I'll go get ready now." I said. "By the way, that dress looks great on you." I said, kissing her cheek. She smiled at me. "Go. Now. Before I take your dress." She said. I giggled, running down the hall to my room.

I closed the door, sighing out. My hands and legs were shaking, I was so nervous. "Calm down y/n, you've got this." I say aloud to myself. I change into the dress, tying my h/c hair into a low bun. I put a bit of lip gloss on, as well as some blush. One of the main reasons I got this dress, was because it had pockets. I hid a dagger into the pocket, putting my heels on as well. I walk downstairs to see my mum sitting there. She saw me and started tearing up. "Oh my... you look gorgeous!" She exclaimed. "You're my mum, you have to say that." I say. "No really, if the prince doesn't fall head over heels in love with you he's insane!" She said, taking my hand. I chuckle. "I don't think that will happen, but it's great to dream." I said. She chuckled, pulling me outside, the sun already setting. "Honey, this is going to to be a night you'll never forget!" She said, walking down the street. "Oh it definitely will..." I said quietly, following behind her.
