" Leroy, did you replace the ropes last week, like I asked?" Shouted the captain of the ship.

" You didn't ask me to do that." The new sailor said, confused.

" Oh, boy." The captain gasped.

By the time the message had gotten across, Maurice had already gone under.

" Well, he's a goner." Murmured another crew member.

Maurice couldn't tell that any thing was wrong. He swam deeper and deeper, becoming colder and colder, until he realized that somehow, along the way, the cord had snapped.

' I'm probably good for another fifty feet.' He thought.

Meanwhile, on the ship, the captain had called the emergency line listed on Maurice's phone.

" Yes, the cord has snapped. The pressure down there.... He may already be gone." The captain spoke.

" And you can't signal to him, you can't send a light, or something? There's no way to get him back?" Damon hardly breathed on the other side of the call.

" I'm sorry, sir." The captain replied.

Beneath the ship, Maurice was starting to slip away from consciousness. His head was pounding, and his nose was bleeding, but he still swam deeper.

' I think I've gone too deep,' he thought. Just as he was about to ascend, a strong current pulled him down.

' I'm gonna die!" He panicked.

He fought against the wiil to surrender his life as he spiralled deeper into the ocean.

' Poseidon, dude, I could use some help!' He tried.

Maurice's dim vision was completely useless in the dark water. By some miracle, he wasn't dead. However, his limp body fell until he stared to hallucinate. He pointed at nothing in particular, laughing hysterically. Blood was pooling from his nose, mouth, eyes, and ears.

' I'm a dead man.' He decided.

From a distance, he saw lights. Not just two or three, no.

He saw an entire city.
