I woke up to the sound of birds. I was sleeping on the couch with a pillow and a blanket on my shoulders. Tommy had brought breakfast and was starring at me.
"Good morning beautiful "
"Good morning" I said.
"Did you sleep well?"
"Yes, my friends are probably looking for me everywhere, I should leave."
"It's okay, I have called Matthew and he has told your friends that you were with me, want something to eat?"
"Please"We ate and left the house. We didn't say much but he took my phone number. We returned to the house where the party was. Tommy had to leave but my friends were still there so I went to talk to them. Kaitlin was really scared, she said that she saw me leave with Tommy and that since she didn't know him she thought he was a murderer.
"I know, Kaitlin, I have a tendency to leave with weird men that look like they could kill me with an ax"
Everyone laughed.
I was wondering when Tommy would call me again. He had only left for a couple of minutes and I couldn't wait until i saw him again.
I returned home. My mother didn't even ask me where I was last night since she is mad because my grades aren't as good as they used to be. She thinks that if she stops caring about me my grades will get better. She has a silly way of thinking but I always have something to say that will make her really scared.
"Mom, the cops are waiting for you outside, I'm so sorry, I really shouldn't have done this."
"What!? Why would the cops be waiting outside, I have told you a million times not to do things you aren't supposed to do!"She opened the door, slammed it and came back inside 30 seconds later.
"Very funny, but you better never get caught by the cops because I might just sell you to another family!"
"Yes mom!"
I went in my room, waiting for Tommy's call. After an hour of waiting I started to read. Maybe he was never going to call back. Maybe he only asked for my phone number to get rid of me, so that I wouldn't ask for his and so that I would leave.
He didn't call that day. Maybe it was still a little too early to call me. We had seen each other that same morning, he couldn't just call on the same day to do something again. I was only hoping he would call back and I fell asleep.
