THE PRETEND WORLD

CHAPTER 2

Khushi went and wished the hosts as suggested by her bodyguard and security advisor because there is always a schedule for her to maintain being the daughter of great businessman Shashi Gupta!

She looked at her watch and realized that she still had 30 minutes to bear this torture! Signaling Ray who was there by her side in a minute who would always accompany her in all the public appearances that she would make or asked to make. He was extremely loyal and considered his task of keeping her safe and to make sure not to be fodder for gossips and controversy was his main task which he did exceptionally well.

Khushi to Ray

Khushi: (in low voice) Can we leave now Ray?

Ray(in low voice): No Mam you have hardly been here for 30 mins your schedule says you have to be at the venue for at least an hour or else the report will clearly indicate that we returned early... and

Khushi(sighs): I know...I know that means another set of questions and meeting and again issues for you too...Fine we will leave after 30 mins

Ray just nods his head understanding.

Just then the great ASR comes to her introduces himself giving his famous lopsided smile fully confident that was enough to charm the lady before him.

'Hello Pretty lady... I am Arnav Singh Raizada'! announced Arnav forwarding his hand for a handshake.

Khushi very well knew who he was. Even though she kept herself away from the tabloids, she knew all the people who were always on the top list of the media for all the good and bad reasons.

The great Arnav Singh Raizada was one among them. He belonged to another multibillionaire family who had 4 kids and he was the second child and first son of the Raizada family, the next expected heir to the Raizada empire to say.

But he was nowhere close to handling business because he was busy handling his girlfriend his Instagram and Facebook profile with the teenage girls gushing and swooning over his handsome looks and perfectly toned body. He was the talk of the town as people always wanted to know who was his current girlfriend and who would get a chance to be his next.

Khushi looked at him meeting for the first time and moved her gaze from top to bottom as if analyzing him which made Arnav look at her confusion. Arnav was used to girls gushing and shy looking at him but here this girl was looking at him as if he was a product!

'Hello, Mr. Raizada! (she smiles sweetly)Nice to meet you, and it's Khushi Gupta. I don't remember changing my name to something else as per my knowledge'. Khushi responded.

Arnav smirked and continued 'I couldn't stop myself from calling you that you are so beautiful'.

In that case ' Thank you Mr. Raizada. You look good too'. Khushi chose to say not wanting to initiate the conversation anymore.

'Why don't you join me and my friends? as you seem to be bored here already'. Arnav added.

'Has he been noticing her and following her moves' Khushi thought inwardly.

'I don't think that would be necessary'. I am good. Thank you.-Khushi replied

I insist. I don't like pretty ladies like you getting bored when you have me to always keep you busy. Arnav smiled his dashing smile at her.

Khushi faked a stiff smile at him for his extra sugar-coated words. She however had to kill 30 minutes and thought if this was the solution so be it she thought.' Okay please lead the way Mr. Raizada'. she told.

Soon she was joined by 7 to 8 girls who were apparently Arnie's fans that's what they kept calling him much to Khushi's irritation and annoyance. So much fakeness she thought looking at all of them.

On the other end, Arnav tried bragging about his body and his fights and races to gain the attention of his newfound girl but she kept her complete attention on the phone and was continuously messaging someone without even sparing a glance at him or the other girls which irked him little, as he had no experience being ignored by any girl especially of his interest.

'You know when I was pursuing my MBA and we had a sports event in my University and we had a Sports event and I finished the 100 meters in just 7 seconds and the people behind me were far behind' Arnav told his fan club proudly.

Khushi chuckled immediately hearing this and Arnav and the other girl looked at her questioningly.

'Sorry got reminded of a joke'. Khushi replied cheekily.

But Arnav knew there was something more to that than what she just said.

'I will take your leave Mr. Raizada. It was nice meeting all of you' and left from there without leaving him a chance to complain nor she will be able to sit there any longer.

'I want to leave now. Call the driver and let him know that we are ready to leave. I am done with this shit! exclaimed Khushi to Ray who simply nodded his head taking his boss's order.

Khushi was waiting near the entrance of the venue for the driver when Arnav came behind her calling her name which left her surprised.

'I want to take you out for dinner tomorrow night. Are you free?' - Arnav asked smiling

Khushi raised her eyebrows and responded ' Sorry Mr. Raizada but I am busy tomorrow'.

'It's okay I am fine with any day whenever you are free' Arnav said.

'I don't want to date you if that is what an honest reply you are looking from me' -Khushi said

'But why?' Arnav shot back completely shocked at her response.

'I don't think you have any qualities that I am looking for in my better half' - Khushi said coolly.

But...... Arnav's sentence was cut off by Khushi... No, your pretty face won't help in that matter. Khushi told boldly.

Have a great night Mr. Raizada. I am pretty sure you will have girls lined up for you tonight but you see I am not interested in being that lucky person. Nice meeting you bye...

With that Khushi went in her car as it had already arrived 2 minutes ago.

Leaving a completely baffled and astonished Arnav behind!!!
