I looked across the caffe sipping on my hot chocolate, bored waiting on my best friend. The whole caffe was busy with students from the campus hanging out laughing.
"Avery?" My best friend Katy said snapping her fingers trying to capture my attention.
"Yeah?" I mumbled snapping out of my thoughts finally noticing how crowded it actually got.
"You would think since your British you would be more alert but sometimes I worry about you," she teased with a knowing smile.
"I guess that would be considered true although I don't understand my mums decision to move here, well not quiet fully anyways."
"It was a sign duhh we were suppose to become best friends and that's why you had to move here." Shaking my head I smiled. "You know I would have never guess that your mom and you were related till you told me.""I know I know the only thing my mum and I have in common really is our hair color, my eyes I got from my dad." I stated with an eyebrow raised sipping my hot chocolate.
"I always swear you have the worlds most craving for hot chocolate during winter." Katy said grabbing my hot chocolate much to my protest. Looky over there now he's a hottie." Katy said with her smile getting bigger. Looking over to where she was staring the poor lad down I couldn't help but agree. A tall college student around our age was casually laughing with his friends. He had brown hair and was athletic built with hazel brownish eyes.
"I'll have to agree with you on that my bestie." Quickly I felt confused as she turned serious looking over my shoulder. There stood my ex along with the boy we were just talking about."Well look who we have here." Dylan stated with his green eyes boring into mine. I glared but remained composed instead of letting him get to me. "You look well." He said while dragging a chair to our table. The boy we talk about earlier seemed confused but remained quiet taking in the situation.
"Your not welcomed here," I state icily while Katy gave him a threatening."Oh don't worry kitten, I could care less about you I just thought it would be fun to mess with you." He stated leaning back with his arms crossed. The boy cleared his throat looking I comfterable . "Carter were about to leave, this is my ex I just thought id say a friendly high. Carter raised his eyebrow considering he was here to catch the lie.
"We actually have leave we have practice soon." Carter said giving Dylan a pointed look. Dylan rolled his eyes.
"True true I guess this means later," Dylan stated with a smirk. While Cody gave me apologetic look. Katy and I shared a look as they returned to their table with their friends to leave."Well that was defiantly interesting." Katy said with a slight frown looking at me waiting for my reaction. I could feel unease eat me up knowing he was here after I thought I left him in Britain.
"That it was," I muttered in confusion about the whole situation.
"Well let's go we still have to pick up groceries for you mom.
"True true." I stated quickly grabbing my bag and hot chocolate. Looking at the small caffe, I smiled at how warm and cozy it looked before we walk onto the streets of New York. As soon as we stepped out I could feel the cool air try to swallow us whole. People crowded around the streets scurrying along hugging their jackets closely. I hugged my hot chocolate for dear life snuggling into my jacket further. Katy eyes grow wide as the cold air blew into our faces making her tail gate to my car. Unlocking the car we drove the grocery store.
"You would think since it's so cold people would actually stay inside rather then making the streets crowded," Katy complained with her arms crossed.
"I've been here for a short time and I even could tell you that would never happen," I laughed rolling my eyes. Until I yelled at a crazy cab driver and got stuck in a line of traffic. "I never learn that it's just better to walk here," I mumbled grudgingly. Even in Britain it isn't half as bad.I will update in a consistent time frame hopefully but I hope you guys enjoy :)
