My new roommate glared at me. Okay, what do I do now? Why am I panicking anyways, it's not like I did a crime. But her bloodshot eyes says otherwise.
"Look, I didn't mean to intrude. Tita... I meant your mom told me to enter and she even opened the door for me." I explained myself even though I don't have to.
"Ay shuta, englishera naman pala." She whispered to herself. "What's your name again? Val..."
"Valentin Lopez, you can just call me Val." She stopped for a moment like she remembered something.
"Are you okay?" I asked.
"Yeah..." She sounded a little shy.
I realised she's still wrapped with her towel. "You should get dressed, first." I stood up and leave the room.
I felt uneasy, I can't believe it's been years. Part of me thinks this is a bad idea... though I know this is the right thing to do, I just can't help to overthink what's going to happen.
I heard the door opened, that was fast. My roommate who I still don't know what her name is, was already wearing her nighties. She's blowing her hair when I entered. She has long curly brown hair with highlights. It matched her light skin.
I decided to fix my things before taking a bath and sleep. I'll just eat after I wake up. My clothes are not that plenty, I can just buy if I have some time.
I started unpacking when my roommate went towards me. "I'll help you with that," She offered. It'll be rude if I refused so I just let her.
We actually finished earlier than I expected.
"Thank you..." I said, sounding a little awkward. I still don't know her name pala.
She got my point, "Irina Coeurelle, you can just call me Elle or whatever you like." She introduced herself.
"You have a nice name."
"Thanks. Aren't you going to eat dinner?"
"No, I'm really tired. I'm just gonna take a bath then I'll sleep. How about you?"
"I'm still full and I still have to attend my classes tomorrow. I'm done with my requirements, which I stayed up all night doing it. Now's the only time I can rest."
She laid down in the bed. Her gaze met mine but she immediately looked away. "By the way, if your going to ask if there are some extra beddings, you can sleep beside me." She moved to the other side.
"Is it okay?"
"Definitely."
"Goodnight." She gave me a smile before closing her eyes. How can she be like that? Hours ago she looks like she's about to murder me and now... I just shrugged then made my way to the bathroom.
I checked my phone, it's exactly 6:37 in the morning. I've just woken up and I'm already hungry. Elle is still sleeping peacefully. Admiring her beauty, she can be a model. Shit, what am I doing?
I did my morning routine before leaving the room, still wearing my nighties. I went to the kitchen and tita was already there. She was with a middle-aged woman.
"Oh, Carmen gising ka na pala. This is Ysabell, the housekeeper." She introduced me the woman she was talking to. Being called by my first name sounds weird.
"Good morning, po." I greeted them. Tita gave Ms. Ysabell a nod, it was like a signal for her to leave. After Ms. Ysabell was out of sight, tita spoke.
"You really look like Camilla."
"Do you know her, po?"
"I was friends with her." Her voice softened, it almost sounded like a whisper. She was about to say something when her phone rang. "I need to go, kain ka na."
