let me start off by saying this method works for me, I can't guarantee it will for anyone else.

first, let's take a quick look through the past few years of my life.

for pretty much the last 5 years, I was your favorite moody wannabe goth/emo kid. always mad/angry, kinda bxtchy and rude. I, myself, was always depressed and even I wouldn't want to work with me on any project.

and I was fine with that...mostly. I mean, we can't all be happy, right? of course, I was always a little disappointed by my lack of friends and I was well aware of some of the not-so-lovely rumors about me due to my attitude.

and then...kpop happened.

this definitely did not help my situation. bc I'm half korean, and so were my parents, I couldn't fit into either culture and being into kpop gave the impression I was turning away from the other half of me. (I still haven't solved this problem btw lol)

but...it made me want to be better (taking care of myself- inside and out)

plus quarantine decided to say hello.

this was the perfect opportunity to work on myself. since around October, I've been making subtle adjustments to my life (summarized below)

clean out room, re-organize it, pretend to make it more aesthetic (even tho none of my furniture matches and I don't planning on buying new stuff)

start working out

drinking more water

waking up earlier

better skincare

I completely understand that many of you are "but I hate working out" or "I can never get up early" and I was that way, too. But now, I have a daily schedule that I follow and I honestly feel brighter and happier everyday.

my schedule:

wake up at around 7:30 (I'll be waking up earlier when we go to school in person again)

open my windows/blinds

take 10-15 minutes to go through the news/check all my notifications

make my bed

10 minutes of stretching

wash face, brush teeth yada yada (quarantine does not mean ditch self care)

drink 1 glass of water

10 minute work out (literally just one of Chloe Ting's workouts)

EAT BREAKFAST

start school work

at some point (usually around 4) go on a 35-45 minute walk

finish working

sometime around 8, 10 minute workout

catch up/prepare for tomorrow

5-10 minute room tidy

go to bed no later than 10:30

throughout the day drink AT LEAST 1 gallon of water

this might seem like a lot, but again, I've been slowly adding things for the past few months. another thing to keep in mind is that the type of music you listen to affects your mood (I'm not saying ditch your rock/hardcore whatever, but maybe sprinkle in some happier songs -see the previous chapter for my favs)

I hope this helps in any way!!
