I panted as I ran deep into the woods, away from the attacker. I scrambled around, looking for a hiding place. I found a nook between a bush and a tree. Earlier that day, when I was doing my homework, a man dressed in black had burst into the house, demanding an "Ellie". Unfortunately, that's me. Let me introduce myself. I'm Ellie Jackson. I'm 13 years old and I love reading books, writing and also love animals. Horses and Bunnies are my favorite. Back to the man clad in black. He was tromping up the stairs. I had jumped out of the window onto the tree next to our house. I silently jumped off the tree and landed on both feet, hurting my ankle in the process. I hobbled as fast as I could to the woods and wishing I hadn't, looked back, and saw the man in black advancing speedily. I crawled deeper and deeper into the woods, found the cranny earlier described, and crouched. I heard footfalls and heavy breathing. I set weight on my ankle and winced. I hope it wasn't broken. The Creepy Guy, as I will now call him, was looking around. Behind trees, into bushes. I knew he was looking for me. I also knew it would be only a matter of time 'till he found me. I crawled behind a tree as he advanced to my early hiding spot. Then he said in a soft voice, "Please come out. Look, I can give you your phone." He tossed it, and miraculously, it didn't break. It had landed out of his point of view next to me, so I snatched it up and dialed 911, ready to call. I limped out from behind the tree and said. "I can call right now, so give me a reason not to." He looked at me, alarmed, and said. "I swear I'm not going to hurt you. That's a nasty-looking ankle injury you have there." I pondered for a moment, then with my finger hovering over the call button, asked, "Who are you, Why are you here, and What business do you need?" He answered with, "Can't tell you, I need some information, and my business is to get it out of you." then he added, "just tell me." I racked my brains for anything important that I had heard or saw in the past year. Nothing. Then I pressed the call button and pressed speaker mode. I said in a frantic voice, "a man is chasing me and asking for information I do not have!" I told the dispatcher my street and where I was. Meanwhile, the guy was looking at me, almost amused. A while later, when I heard footsteps coming through the woods, he ran at me. I limped as fast as I could to the sound of the footsteps. I was relieved when I saw the police circling the man. They asked him questions, all of which he would not answer, except one. It was, "Why are you chasing her?" In which his reply was, "I was told to get information out of Ellie Jackson, by my boss, I will say no more." They arrested him, put handcuffs on his wrists. Before he left, he gave me an eerie smile, and said, "this is not over". I panicked, knowing that he was going to come and get me one day. Before they put him in the car, I asked him a question. "I don't think I am the Ellie Jackson you are looking for. For real, Why are you chasing me? His reply scared me out of my wits, "My boss doesn't like people who give up a fight." The police put him in the car and drove away. I hobbled up to my house and locked myself in my room, remembering my only secret that nobody knew.
