!blood mentions, bullying, panic attack!
- Third person point of view-
Leo awoke to to the screams of a hungry Smokey he looked to his left at the clock saying it was 7:30 Leo had completely forgot about school. Rushing to get his backpack he didn't bother changing thinking the clothes he was in would do fine, if only he remembered. He ran outside into the freezing rain and sprinted to his school. Leo barged into class immediately getting stares. It was only then he remembered what he was wearing. Laughter spread throughout the classroom some snapping pictures and others whispering. I could do anything but stand there in embarrassment and in shock. How could I forgotten I was was wearing a skirt, A SKIRT."Take a seat Leo." The teachers few words made the class go silent.
I sat down and went on with my day until the end of school.
"Hey, glitter guy." I hoped this name wouldn't stick.
"Couldn't come up with a better name?" I asked.
He looked to be processing the words I had told him. The boy was Chandler a football boy and experienced toxic masculinity but wasn't much different from the other football boys. I was thinking he had left but that was before I saw a fist sailing towards my face. Time slowed down the pain came slowly but when it did I knew a bruise would be left there. I felt my head head hit the locker I was next to with a loud crack. The hallway started to get blurry and I couldn't tell my exact surroundings. Another boy had told Chandler off and his taller companion smacking him before the retreat. The smaller boy leaned down into slightly more into view.
"Are you okay?" The boy said holding out a hand.
"Yea I'm fine..."
"You sure? You don't look like it." The taller boy said.
I felt the side of my head that got hit against the locker and pulled my hand out in front of my face. Blood covered the right side of my hand and I assumed the same for my head. I watched a droplet of red fall to the floor. My hands started to shake vigorously. It was out of my control and the more I tried to make it stop if got worse to the point I was on the floor in tears just trembling. My vision started getting blurry as tears filled my eyes. Although the taller boy seemed to be tougher he started to freak out a little bit and looked worried. The smaller boy was more in control and seemed to know what to do.
"Forest your worrying isn't helping him feel better."
"Sorry Kenji."
"Hey uh Leo? Can you count to ten for me and take some breaths?"
I followed his instructions and soon was starting to calm down. Although my breathing was shaky I was able to focus better. I could tell that Forest the boy who had smacked Chandler was also doing the same breathing exercise.
"Leo you are bleeding quite a bit so I'm going to bring you back to my house only if it's okay?" I wasn't sure why but I knew I could trust Kenji.
I nodded my head and took Forest's out stretched hand and followed them to their car. Kenji placed his jacket on the back of my seat probably to keep from blood stains. It wasn't to long before I felt my eyelids weighing down and I had dozed off.
