[BANGCHAN]

It was a normal day at school. As usual he was going to go home alone with the train. He looked at the School building and read the words deeply carved in the stone : "Newtown High School of the Performing Arts". The boy was in his junior year. He turned around and was ready to head to the train station when he heard a familiar woman voice calling out for him.

"Chris! Christopher! On the right."

Chris looked at his right and saw his mom standing next to her car. That's strange, he said to himself, Mom is usually at work at that time of the day. I always go home with the train. Well. Even better. I'm gonna be home sooner and have more time to do the math homework. Ugh, how I hate math!

"I'm coming! Wait for me!" said the boy smiling without even suspecting that this was the luckiest day of his life. He ran to the car and got inside after throwing his backpack in the back seat.

"How was school?" asked his mom after a few minutes of driving.

"It was OK. Today I had ballet class. It was fun."

"You know, I was thinking, with all that dance, ballet and guitar classes, you could audition to some company. There's a local audition for that Korean company - JYP. Maybe you'll like it. It's in a few days. If you want I could drive you there."

Chris didn't know what to say. He's been dreaming and secretly preparing for that moment. But he thought that was only in the land of dreams where everything is possible! How is that happening.

His mom understood the silence wrong. "I get it if you're not interested. I shouldn't be writing your path for you."

"No! You got me wrong. I would love to go! That's like, my dream. When is it?"

"Oh! Uhh. OK. I guess. It's this Saturday. A few miles out of Sidney. Do you think you have enough time to prepare yourself? I'm afraid I gived it to you a bit late." said the woman with a worried look on her face.

"No! It's fine. I have a few cards up my sleeve." Said Christopher excided. He indeed had a hidden performance, that he practised alone in his free periods.

SATURDAY

The day of the audition! Oh, you have no idea how nervous he was! Chris was super anxious about talking to people, so singing in front of strangers was his absolute nightmare. But he wanted to do it. That was his childhood dream. He will do it. He can do it. He wants to do it.

The whole ride he was thinking about the song. It was one of his favorites.

Chris and his mom finally arrived at the building. There wasn't a lot of people waiting to audition. And all of them were Asians. After a not that long wait was his turn.

He sang the song he's been preparing for such a long time (a song I.N would sing in one of monthly evaluations in JYP Ent. later on). In that moment he wasn't the little boy Christopher. He was the singer and future producer Bang Chan.

After the audition Chris and his mother were heading to their car to go home when one of the judges, a woman in her 30s, stopped him and told him that she would like to see him again. They made an arrangement for the next Saturday.

NEXT SATURDAY

Chris was nervous. Again. Of course he will be nervous. A stranger will come into his house and listen to him. How is that OK? He has no idea. But this is what is needed to pass the audition. This is what is needed to fulfill his dream. So he'll do it. Come on, Christopher, thought the boy to himself, you can do it, NO, you WILL do it. You have to. That's your dream remember.
