______
The sun shined bright out upon the beautiful green field filled with all kind of flowers, zenitsu sat in the middle of it all. His eyes closed while he enjoyed the feeling of it all, that's when he heard footsteps not to far away from him. Opening his eyes and sitting up, looking towards where he heard the noise from.
"Hey zenitsu" said Tanjiro, his hands in his pockets as he walked up to the blonde scaredy-cat. "Oh! Hi tanjiro" he smiled as the red haired boy sat next to him.
"You know everyone is really to leave, why are you here?" He asked, staring at his beloved zenitsu. He chuckled. "Oh, I'm just admiring the view" zenitsu sighed, resting his chin on his knees as he looked out of the flower filled field.Tanjiro kept his eyes on zenitsu, his heart pounding so loud he could hear it in his ears. Studying every feature in the smaller boys face as his face slowly turns red.
Zenitsu could feel Tanjiro staring, he even could hear how fast his heartbeat was. So he turned and looked at him "what's wrong?" Zenitsu asked the other, concern growing within him. "A-ah! S-sorry,, it's nothing" Tanjiro quickly looked away, staring at the field in front of him. Startled abit by being faced with zenitsu's honey coloured eyes. Tanjiro could smell how worried zenitsu was getting tho so turned back to him.
"I promise it's nothing zenitsu" he smiled, making zenitsu's heart skip a heat. "I- I- okie" the blond turned away, embarrassed at how he stuttered.
Tanjiro chuckled, facing the large opening. 'This is a great opportunity! I could,, I could finally.. ask.. him out' his face went up in flames at the thought but turned fully so zenitsu couldn't see his face, 'no! No,, I could never..' but with this action. He noticed a sunflower just next to him 'how did I not notice this? It kinda reminds me of..' and that's when he finally got the strength to ask the question.
Tanjiro slowly picked the flower out of the ground, "u-um. Zenitsu? I- I need to tell you something" he said, Tanjiro was slightly trembling.
"What's wrong Tanjiro..?" Zenitsu asked concerned, hearing his heart beat pick up and he could see how much he was trembling. "Something wrong?" He asked once again.
"I- u-uh,," and so Tanjiro cleared his throat, hiding the sunflower behind his back. Face completely crimson. "Zenitsu.. I've been thinking about this for along while,, a-and.." he hesitated, making zenitsu even more worried of what he was going to say.
"Zen- zenitsu.."
"Yes..? Tanjiro..?" Zenitsu said as his heart started pounding against his chest.
Tanjiro then slowly pulled the sunflower, and gently holding it out in front of his crush. Squeezing his eyes shut as he looked down, bracing himself.
"woul- WOULD YOU BE MY SUNFLOWER!!"
He yelled out, his throat closing up at how cheesy he sounded but kinda ruined it with his yelling. He always imagined it could just come to him smoothly and it would be romantic, yet here he was trembling in place as he shoved a sunflower in the honey eyed boy.
He waited a few minutes, his heart already shattering as he thought of the worst. Tanjiro opened his eyes to face the consequences
Yet he was faced with a completely shocked, red faced cutie. He almost looked like he was going to pass out, Tanjiro almost thought that it was out of disappointment or something close to that. Until he sniffed the air, smelling warmth. And not the summer air warmth, loving warmth. The kind he would smell around his house throughout the day, but. It was slightly different? More sweet, reminding Tanjiro of the smell zenitsu would give off whenever he was embarrassed around him.
