Background
Was watching Bill's interviews about his first time smoking weed, and his experience in Amsterdam and it was too funny and cute to not write something about it.A second story about Aliya and Bill. Set before the filming of It 2, and right after Aliya started at SNL.
Saturday Night, 1:10 am
Stepping out of the crowded bar, Aliya breathed a sigh of relief. She was heading out of an after party on her third week working at Saturday Night Live. Needless to say, her nerves had been out of control - but she felt thankful. She was especially happy tonight because Bill came down to check things out this week, and it was her most successful Saturday night so far. They were good friends and she knew he believed in her (he and Kristen had put in a good word for her with Lorne), but she still looked up to him and wanted to impress him a bit.
"Al, wait up!"
She turned around and saw Bill's gangly figure jogging behind her.
"You're not walking home alone, are you?" He looked down at her with concern. Before she could even open her mouth he said, "I figured that you were, and before you say anything, I'm coming with you." Aliya snorted.
"Bill, the walk is less than five minutes - I appreciate it, but-" She stopped talking abruptly as she watched Bill take a pack of Camel Lights out of his back pocket, opening the package. "You're smoking again?!"
"Okay, give me a break it has been a rough year!" He put on a macho New York accent and laughed, but as he lit the cigarette Aliya picked up on a flicker of pain in his eyes. She shrugged.
"I'm not here to bust your balls, pal." Mimicking his accent, she reached into her bag and pulled out a fancy metal cigarette case. Opening it up she revealed something wrapped neatly in pale blue rolling paper. "In fact, I think I'll light up as well."
Bill scrunched his nose, craning his neck to get a closer look. "You roll your own cigarettes?" Aliya giggled and lit the tip of the paper, shaking her head. A familiar, skunky smell crept up and his eyes widened. "Oh, shit. Smoking the doobage, huh?" He put on his Californian accent.
