La Malgrandaj Viroj(Hill of the small men)

FROM the other side of Vassbothdalen, right at the top of the mountain, was the famous Hill of the Small Men, or town of the dwarfs. Around there, everything was ready for the beginning of the Jullebuckk. Finn IV, the leader of them, this year, didn't want help of his auxiliaries and, lonely, arranged the goats Tanngnost and Tanngrisni, the ones that pulled the Carriage of Sun. It was them that took the statues of Finn Maccunhail and the one of Thyr for the opening of the Christmas' celebrations of the dwarfs.

The statue of Finn Maccunhail carried an enormous disk, representing the god Sun crossing the skies. Due to its big absence this harsh winter, the dwarfs venerated the Sun. The disk had, in each side, a great symbology for them. Its left side was all of gold and represented the Day. Of bronze, the other side, contemplated the night.

It was believed by the dwarfs that the Sun God crossed the night, illuminating their city, built all of stone. It was right in the climb of the mountains, in the exit of Vassbothdalen and they accommodated themselves there, since they were expelled from the Nordic countries.

For the dwarfs, the statue of Thyr, was the great god Thor. He was found put in the Carriage of the Sun. It went in a higher and highlighted level, because it symbolized the Norse god of war.

The goats were already in a line and ornamented, ready for carrying them. The statue of Finn Maccunhail had a really strong meaning for the dwarfs, because it was the receptor of the offerings. This day, each resident of the Hill of the Small Men, should give his best offering. Only then they would be allowed to exchange the gifts among family and neighbors. It was how the Jullebuckk, Christmas' festivity of the dwarfs, was commemorated.

– Dagrun, I ask that you assemble a hunt group, immediately. I do not like Arvídio's disappearance. – Finn IV ordered, worried with the ancient disappearing since early. I was almost initiating his Jullebuckk, and nothing of the whereabouts of Arvídio was known.

– Finn IV, I searched in every centimeter of the Hill and nobody knows about the whereabouts of Arvídio.

– This disappearance doesn't make sense, Dagrun. Arvídio should already be here. The Jullebuckk is almost happening and he has to kiss the ring. I want you to take Roll in this search. He is an excellent knowlegeable of Vassbothdalen and will be of great help. I fear that Arvídio could have been attacked by a Bear like I already was.

– I'll bring Arvídio, my leader! If he is around there, I guarantee you that I'll bring him back. – Leaning his hands on the shoulder of Finn IV.

– That the god Thyr protects you in this search. Leave soon, because the time isn't being generous with us. Good luck, my constant friend!

– Thank you Finn IV. – Dagrun thanked the chief.

The faithful squire of the dwarfs' leader started to organize the group of search and they left soon after. Dagrun knew the importance of Arvídio to his leader and Juullebuckk's festivities.
