The cold wind blown from the northern hemisphere showed how would be that late afternoon in the calm little town of Talvik; a snowstorm began to fall there. The troopers, gradually, got off the carriage parked close to the church's door. They were tasting a Lussikatt, a Bread made of saffron, a typical food from that place. The weather in this time of the year was propitious to laziness, and the residents accomplished their tasks really slowly.

The troopers carefully checked and examinated the two horses, these were already tied. They put a bit of hay in order to feed the animals, and were giving the last adjustments in the Processional Float, that was above the carriage, taking out the snow that persistently insisted to fall in the place where would stay the Saint Lucy image and the one of the sacred chandelier.

Usually that place was monotonous in the late afternoon, however, that day, it was possible to notice the contagious joyfulness among its residents, because the festivities of Saint Lucy would happen, the most important Talvik's festival.

It was possible to see, from far away, people getting near to the carriage. As usual of all years, they would appreciate the departure of the sacred object from the church, so they could start the festivities.

Talvik, that day, would celebrate, but, this time, something unexpected surprised everyone: A strong flash of light, along with a loud scream that invaded the church of that calm place.

– Help! Catch the thief... Catch the thief!

– Catch the thief? – Repeated Erling, one of the troopers, worried with the crowd!

The screams echoed from the Church, sounding like they were amplified sounds. That community would never imagine what was occurring inside that church, much less who was such "thief" pronounced by screams.

Baffled, they remained motionless watching each other without knowing how to react, because the community was safe and everyone knew each other.

Another flash of light, almost blinding everyone, was seen again. It was followed by another loud sound, an uncommon kind of thunders.

Located in northern Norway, Talvik, every year, as usual, was prepared to tribute Saint Lucy. It was the only festivity that remained since the Protestant church dominated Talvik. This festivity preceded the birth celebration of the infant Jesus.
