This takes place after the group make it back to leymone from Guarma, I am sortve going with the game, but this is before Dutch rejoins the gang and Tifa is alone with him--*
It was raining hard down on the swamp and Tifa was staring up at the grey clouds as thunder rumbled above with lightning flashing between the trees, it was a gloomy sight just like her mood: She was thinking about Guarma and how they almost didn't make it off due to some mad man's order.
No, not Dutch, it was Fussar
But most importantly...why she was feeling blank
~~ One particular memory stuck out to her...
'You said you knew Spanish' Arthur said and Tifa, who was at the other opening near Arthur was taking a glance at Dutch as he spoke
'I know human beings, Arthur'
Arthur looked at Tifa and their eyes met for a moment and she looked away and at the stone wall
'You gonna strangle us next?' He said referring to him and Tifa, Tifa had her arms folded in a nervous way, she couldn't believe Dutch had killed an old lady...for no reason...sure, she didn't seem trustworthy but he could've just knocked her out or something
'I'm doing the best I can' Dutch answered, Tifa glanced at Dutch...
Oh yeah...that makes me feel a whole lot safer with you...
-*
Dutch knew what he was doing, he deliberately killed that old woman. he was not stupid and putting up a fake front didn't hide a simple fact: that her beloved was losing his mind
Hearing the rain patter around her, Tifa had her hands on her arms, letting out a tense sigh as the sound of footsteps on the old porch, made her eyes veer to the right, seeing Dutch approach her
"Hey, I saw some lights and some stuff that could belong to our gang..." he stopped when Tifa just meekly smiled with a nod
"Alright...let's go check it out that may be them" she said and once she moved away from the wall, she instantly froze when Dutch moved close to her
"Hold on" he said and Tifa just looked at him
"What's wrong?" She asked and Dutch looked back at her seeing fear in her eyes
"What is it, Tifa?" He asked, instantly telling that something was wrong and in the way she was acting
"...we don't have the time, Dutch" Tifa mumbled "Pinkerton's could be anywhere"
she saw him shake his head from side to side, not taking that answer
"Tifa, I will make the time, now tell me what's on your mind. Please" he said in a stern voice but tried to be gentle with her, Tifa crossed her arms
"Alright, fine..." she sighed and looked at the trees "Dutch...the thing is: you are frightening me"
Dutch looked down and leaned on the wood pillar "you mean back in Guarma. The old woman" he assumed not in a question tone, nor in a surprised one, Tifa glanced down as he continued "I did what I had to do"
Tifa uncrossed her arms and placed both of her hands on the wooden railing and firmly grasped it "Dutch, she was a frail old woman, we could've disarmed her easily—"
Dutch turned her way and placed his hand near hers
"It didn't cross my mind" because of the pouring rain Tifa's annoyed sigh wasn't heard and rolled her eyes briefly luckily not noticed by him as he continued
