"WHY, Y/N?" KAIYA CRIED OUT to her younger sister, who was laying on the couch, tears rolling down her face. this was the side of the l/n's that no one ever saw. kaiya had gotten home an hour after y/n, as she was hanging out with ren, katsuo's older brother, and kaiya's best friend. when she came home she found her younger sister with an empty bottle of alcohol, and another half empty bottle beside the couch she was resting on
"i- i'm sorry, kai.." the h/c's voice quivered, knowing well that she had slipped again, something she promised to never do again. she refused to lock eyes with her older sister. to her friends this was rare, but for the sisters it was very common. the older l/n tried to get y/n into therapy, but she refused to leave the house whenever she had appointments, and it was impossible to drag her there.
y/n found that drinking and getting high was a way to swallow her emotions up, and cloud her brain with different thoughts. it was a distraction from reality. "n/n, you even skipped practice?" kaiya knelt down beside the hammered h/c. kaiya hated seeing y/n like this, it made her feel useless, like there was nothing she could do.
sorrow and concern was laced behind every word the blonde said. the way it broke kaiya's heart to see y/n like this. tears wouldn't stop leaving the younger l/n's eyes, decorating her face. "you knew i wasn't going to be home, didn't you, so you skipped practice so you could come drink. i know you y/n."
kaiya's lips were dry, her skin covered in goosebumps. "kai..."
"DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH YOU WORRY ME, Y/N?" tears stung both of the sibling's eyes. kaiya embraced her younger sister in a very much needed hug. "please, tell me when you feel like this... it makes me feel sick when i see you like this.."
y/n sobbed into her sisters arms. the two stayed in the same position in silence, besides y/ns quiet sobs. "I'm sorry, kaiya. thank you, i love you." the h/c had eventually calmed down, and the siblings parted from their long hug.
just as y/n began to pick up her bottles, kaiya took them from her hands. "go take a shower, n/n, you smell like alcohol and regret. let me clean up, not that there is much to tidy up anyways."

the sisters had finished eating dinner in total silence and parted to their separate rooms for the night. kaiya was lying down on her bed, staring at her ceiling, her spotify playlist playing in the background. she couldn't take her mind off of the events that had transpired earlier, and it was eating her up.
kaiya had a feeling that y/n would blame herself for making her older sister concerned. she hated people knowing about her feelings and opening up, so it made her sick to her stomach to think about kaiya seeing her a mess.
across the hallway, y/n was doing something very similar to kaiya. she was lying on her unmade bed, staring at the ceiling, music playing in the background as she soundlessly cried. she cried out of frustration. her phone on her bedside table was blowing up with notifications, and y/n just wanted to smash it.
she couldn't take the notifications anymore and silenced her phone, throwing it across her room, and it landing with a thud. the h/c eventually passed out from exhaustion.
