Lightning Love {MHA ~Tenya Iida x Gender Neutral Reader}

2 days went by since the Sports Festival and Y/n felt that Iida had been acting different lately. Ever since his disappearance at the festival, he's been more distant than usual and stopped walking home with Y/n and Denki, which made Y/n feel a little disappointed. They liked it when Iida walked home with them, he was fun to talk to.

As Y/n walked into the classroom, they overheard Iida walking to Midoriya, telling him not to worry about his brother. They rose an eyebrow but decided it was none of their business... though they felt upset that he didn't tell then about anything, he always did when they were walking home together.

Y/n sat down at their seat and doodled on their sketchbook for a while before Kirishima came up to them with Mina. "Hey, you alright? You look kinda down," Mina asked, placing her hand on Y/n's shoulder.

"Yeah I'm fine, just tired is all," Y/n lied, giving Mina and Kirishima a reassuring smile.

"Alright then. Just know if there's anything you want to talk about, we're here for you," Kirishima stated, taking Mina over to Bakugo to annoy him.

Mr Aizawa walked into the room and everyone scurried to their seats as usual. He began explaining things about the festival that Y/n didn't care much for. When midnight arrived, he told everyone about picking their hero names, which everyone was excited about.

The students were given 15 minutes to think of their hero name, and those 15 minutes were an excruciating Hell, they thought hard on what they wanted their name to be, but nothing felt right. But then it hit them, 10 seconds remained and they quickly scribbled down the name they wanted.

"Alright, Time's up, who wants to be the first to show?" Midnight clapped her hands in excitement.

After everyone came up with their names and showed everyone, it was Y/n's turn. They gulped and stood up, slowly making their way up to the front of the class and showing their whiteboard to everyone. "{name you guys choose}" written in rushed handwriting.

"Interesting, Care to explain why you chose the name?" Midnight asked.

"{explanation}" Y/n explained nervously, thinking people are gonna laugh at the name.

"It suits you," Midnight smiled and pat Y/n on back. "Now go sit down"

Y/n sat down, their legs feeling like jelly. They never liked being centre of attention, especially with the thought that they were gonna get laughed at.

Now it was time for the Workplace training. Where the students are selected by Pro Heroes all around and spend a week training with them. The kids were given until the end of the week to choose who they went with, and Y/n chose the Hosu City Hero Office; 1 because it's the only one they got invited to, and 2 because they overheard Iida was going.
