Beginning of the End

Hunt for the Clairvoyant

It had been a week since Garrett slipped away and exposed himself. In that week, Ward hoped to have some peace as he knew the inevitable was coming but unfortunately that wasn't the case. An Asgardian who could bend the will of the men with her voice or her touch had come to the Earth and after her, a friend of Thor's to catch her. He had been sure Lorelia's power was being  exaggerated but the woman managed to get him under her control as well, causing him to almost kill May. The only good thing that had come from that was May learning him desiring Skye and ending the 'relationship'.

"Must be extra hard for you." Skye said behind him and sat down next to him on the coach. "Learning your mentor was the man we have been chasing all along."

"Well, it's very hard for all of us. Garrett was a respected SHIELD agent, he was Coulson's friend, a protege of Director Fury and he turned out to be a traitor," 'one of the many.' remained unsaid.

"Do you have any idea why he did all of this? It seems absurd that he would throw everything he had away for super soldiers." she said. 

'He has thrown them all away to save his life.' Ward thought but Skye couldn't learn that he knew that. "No, I don't know and I don't care. Nothing can justify what he ordered done to you." He meant it. If he hadn't come clean to Coulson after his rescue, he would certainly have after seeing her bleed out on the floor. 

Skye sensed his anger and sadness. Garrett's betrayel must have taken very hard on him, she thought. The only time she was able to identify how he felt had been because of the Berserker staff (if you discount the Miles incident).  She put her hand on his, making him to look at her. 

"Please, try not to do anything stupid for that, okay? I'm alive." she said softly. He noded to relieve her and it looked like he managed it. If she knew what really was going, what he had been ordered to do...

"Alright." Coulson said, entering the lounge and ending the call. He looked at the two. "I have just talked with Agent Hand. She wants to see us at the HUB, said that she put together a unit to find and capture Garrett." he said and glanced at Ward. 

"Do we have a lead on his whereabouts?" May asked, walking towards the Mission Control and activating it.

"Agent Blake has an idea. We will see."

At The HUB

The unit Hand had chosen and Coulson's team stood in the command center, waiting for the plan to be laid out.

"As you all know, our objective is to capture Agent Garrett. He is in charge of the Centipede turned people like Mike Peterson into his pet projects." Hand started.

"Mr. Peterson is the most dangerous one, his latest attack on Agent Triplett's safe house proved that. He can crush your skulls before you can do anything to protect youselves, so be careful. He is an unwilling participant but we can save him only after we capture Garrett. Do everything you can to protect yourselves against him." Blake continued.

"A  week ago, Garrett had one of my agents shot and he didn't do this to give us an ultimatum or to scare us. He had helped me and my team to find the necessary cure to save her life before he exposed himself. The facility we had found the drug had dozens of unknown drugs and cures SHIELD has no record of. We assume he wanted to get there and thus has gotten what he wanted." Coulson said.

"He could have done anthing with what he had stolen, use it to strengthen the Centipede serum or use it as a weapon. We don't exactly know what we are up against but don't use lethal force unless you have no other choice. We need Garrett to destroy the rest of the Centipede. He may have been the clairvoyant but there might be other leaders we don't know about." Hand said.
