Brent and Loke dropped the clothes they were going to use after a shower, and grabbed for Kisa but since she was already in my arms, they grabbed me. I whistled, Butch settled down tucking his ears and tail in knowing he did something wrong but not knowing what.
“You can let go, she is fine.” I push them off me, their eyes skirting to the side, their faces both red. Without thinking I start signing.”You. Okay. Butch.Not.Mean.To. Bite.You.He.Tried.To Focus.On. Not. Harm. You. And.Got.Confused. When. You. Grab….” I stop shocked at what I’m doing. But Kisa Surprises me when she rubs a fist on her chest.
“Sorry.” I don’t know how to respond. I look at Brent and Loke shocked, and they do the same to me.
“You know sign?” The brothers say at the same time. I nod my head.
“She is deaf?”
“No. She was bullied because of her voice, so she refuses to talk. When we went to pick her up from her day care, she had climbed a tree and was surrounded by those things.” Brent explains. Kisa holds my hand, when I stand. I wrap the rope around her waist.
“This way he can be by you, and he won’t be alert unless he feels something off.” She nods her head, a look of determination on her face. I giggle a little. When I look the boys are looking at us both with matching grins. I roll my eyes, walking off to show them to the showers.
