| High School Days | Jane the killer x Mary Vaughn

————————————————————————It was Sunday afternoon.
LA had a small breeze with a fresh smell that day, Mary was just packing her school supplies for the next day. Her first year of high school will begin soon. Her father, Nick came home from work. He took off his sheriff hat and hang it on the coat hanger.
"Welcome home dad!" Mary stopped what she was doing and ran to hug her dad. Her mother Allison, came into the room and welcomed her husband with a kiss on the cheek.
"Dinner will be done in a few hours, it should give you time to go take a shower ." Said Allison, brushing the dust off her husband's shoulders. " Mary, why don't you set up the table for us after your done packing."
"Yes, I will mom. Just need to sharpen these colored pencils " said Mary, walking back to her backpack.
While sharpening her pencils, she can smell the strong smell of BBQ from the kitchen. Yet, Mary wanted to know what her mother was making, so she got up and put her stuff away,
" I can probably do those later at school.." Mary thought while walking to the kitchen. It was Steam ribs with a nice thin spread of BBQ sauce. And of course, the delicious smell made her very hungry, so she set the table straight away.
After she set all the plates and silverware, she sat on her seat and waited. But, she noticed that there were too many plates set up and her mother bringing out another tray of steamed ribs. " Mom, I know we can't eat all these ribs on the same night! Plus we don't have any room in the fridge. Why do we need 2 steamed ribs? Also, why have so many plates, are there visitors?" Her mother chuckled and settled the ribs on the dining table.
" Yes, visitors are coming. Of course, we are not just us eating these big steam ribs alone as a family. Your father decided to invite the Richardsons to come and have dinner with us ." Mary was confused, who is this family she is talking about. " Yeah " her father came into the room ." It's a small thank you, to Bruce. He manages to help me take care of messy stuff. He's also a Command Sergeant Major, which is pretty cool what he did back there for me.
" What did you guys do?" Mary looked at her father curiously and sitting on the edge of her seat excitedly. "Well, you see-"

~Door bell rang~

"Oh, it looks like they're here." Her father walked out of the kitchen and into the living room to greet their visitors. Mary was a little upset that she didn't get to hear what her father and Bruce did. But oh well, she can ask him on her own time. "Mary, there's a girl who goes to the same school as you. And she'll help you get you to your class. I already asked her mother ." Mary looked straight at the hallway waiting to see who this girl was.
Coming in was the mother, then the father, then a girl who looks about Mary's age, with nice and silky brown hair down to her shoulders. Then there was another girl who came in. Blonde straight hair just like Mary's, black shirt with a Poison band logo on it with skinny jeans. She looked as if she was in her 20's but really Mary couldn't figure it out. The oldest sister and younger sister sat on the opposite side of the table where Mary was. The parents were greeting each other by the kitchen entrance waiting for the 2nd set of ribs to cook.
Mary was a bit shy around the girls, looking down at her toes. The older sister stared at Mary with a smile. " So... You're Mary? Right?"
"Yes, I am Mary ." The little sister gave Mary a little wave when she looked up at them.
" I'm Jane, I'm a senior. And this is my sister." Jane pointed at her sister beside her.
" I'm Jessica, but you can call me Jessie for short... I'm the same year as you ." Mary gave them both a warm smile and pushing her hair back ." I'll be helping you and Jessie to get to your guy's assigned classes, but the cool thing is you and Jessie have the same English class together and you and I have the same chemistry class. " Jane said with excitement.
"That's cool, um. Have you heard what your father and my father did? Cause my dad was interrupted and didn't have time telling me ."
Mary looking back at her toes.
"Hmm.. well, what I heard from my father's call was that.. Mine and your father are investigating together for a missing boy name Jeffery woods. He was missing a couple of days ago, leaving his whole family dead and had Liu woods. His brother, to the hospital. What I heard that he got multiple stabs in the chest. There's no way he could have survived that attack. But really my father is not part of the investigation but he wanted to help too. He was just visiting the place until he saw your father chasing some dumb teen who was just vandalizing the property. My father manages to tackle the dude down and turned him in right away. Which here, your father decided to invite us to your house for a dinner to thank my father. " Mary was indeed interested in the boy but then again the news could tell a hoax.
Everyone at the table settled down wait for the food on the table chatting about work. Jane was talking all about the school which Mary felt bad for not listen and Jessie just chilling quietly playing on her Game boy (Micro).

"Well then everyone, let's dig in!" Mary's mom laid down the two steam ribs on the table with a couple of beer cans and some fruit punch for the kids.
After dinner was done Jane put her hand on Mary's shoulder with a whisper.
" Meet me in front of the school's flag pole when you get dropped off ." Jane walked off towards the door.
" Yeah... See you there!" Mary waves goodbye to Jane and Jessie with a smile. And The sisters waved back as well before they go outside.
Mary was very excited but also scared for her first day, but hey at least she has someone older than her who can help her around.
" Mary went to the restroom and brushed her teeth and changed into her PJs. Then head straight to her room, all tucked in ready to bed and closed her eyes.
