I felt something move me to the side and a loss of comfortable springs surrounded by other soft materials – my bed. I made an “Oomph” like sound after I fell. The sound of his laughter was the only thing I could hear.
Groaning, I sat up and rubbed my sleepy eyes awake with my fists.
“You are going to die, unless you have my blueberry pancakes ready, and stat.”
I could see a scared look creep onto Niall’s face as he realized his plan wasn’t a very good one. He was halfway down the stairs when he shouted “You snore like a fucking mammoth!” Face palming myself then and there, in my batman pyjamas. Before I could even change, Niall was back up with a sample of my pancakes, waiting for my approval. Whilst I was enjoying my tiny piece of heaven, he snapped a picture of me. In my Batman pj’s.
Literally a frozen moment later, I’m staring at him with a blank face and he’s got the signature ‘Deer in Headlights’ look, ready to run. “Go. Finish. My. Pancakes. Now. ” He backed out of my room slowly and said, “Nice bod Love.” “It’s all in the hard work,” I reply.
After eating my pancakes, I hopped onto Niall’s bike, behind him and we drove off to school. Theo had to take my parents or the bus today.
We met Bryce at school and handed him is orange juice and blueberry muffin we picked up at Starbucks. “So what are you two freaks planning this afternoon?” I swiftly grabbed Bri’s muffin out of his hand and took a huge bite out of it, jogging ahead a few steps. “Hey!! That was... That was mine.” Bryce said in a sad tone. I threw his muffins remnants back at him and told him it was always his.
“I shall dissect you in your greatest hour and retrieve my food!!” “By then I’d already have it digested.” I ran ahead to my locker to sort out my books in my locker. Or more like my entire locker. After ten minutes of random judgmental stares, sitting on the cold tiled floor and assembling notes, I stood up and dusted myself off. I felt a big whoosh and in a second my locker door was slammed closed in front of my face, barely scraping by. I was alert and did a 180 degree turn to see who the jackass was. Ethan was standing there casually, hands in his pockets without a care in the world. “Fucking jackass!” I exclaimed and he returned with a smile. “Hey Ali, just checking up on ya, Love.” “Well this ain’t London so ya better drop the accent, ey?”
“Cheeky as always, ey Love?” I shoved him back as we caught up with each other. Gossip was one thing he loved dearly... The British male version of Gossip Girl would be his best fitting description.
“Some people are like flowers, we grow and we reach our flourishing point, after that, our beauty and our power we had at our greatest moment cannot be repeated, ever. As soon as you’re damaged beyond repair, you become the wilting, dying flower. There is nothing on this earth or universe to restore it. The only thing we could do to amount to something even similar to that is to pass it on, give the next flower the pulsing wildness that kept you as a wildflower blooming.
So maybe strength isn’t just about how much you have, but how much you can give.” I finished my last paragraph on my essay, thrilled with what I’ve written and went to sit down at my desk. “Thank you, Miss Jam-” “Its Alison, Sir.” I interjected. The bell rang and class was dismissed.
“Hey, uh Alison?” I turned around searching for the voice’s owner. I saw a really hot guy facing my direction, clearly waiting for my response. “Yeah?” “What was that whole thing about in class?” “Who are you, exactly?” I asked with a hint of bitchiness in my tone. “I’m To-” “Someone who doesn’t know me, therefore has no right to question me about my business. Are we done?”
“Excuse me?!” he replied, dumbfounded. “Sure, ok bye.” I said and walked over to the cafeteria. Call it over the top, but I do not like questioning me or my decisions in life. Especially those who don’t know me. I found Niall and Bryce sitting at our usual table and plopped down with a mighty thud. How graceful. “Thanks for taking half my muffin down that never-ending tunnel of yours you call a stomach.” Bryce said plainly. “Starvation can produce profound mental clarity, you’re welcome.” I smiled, although Bryce didn’t seem convinced. “Whatever...”
“So once again, what are you ignorant idiots doing this afternoon?” Bryce and I just stared at Niall, our food stuffed into our cheeks. Thankfully I wasn’t the one who looked like a chipmunk with stuffed, chubby cheeks. I grabbed my phone from my pocket and snapped a picture of Bryce in all his embarrassing chipmunk chubby-faced glory. I sent the picture to Bri’s phone and handed my phone to Niall. We both burst out laughing, earning a curiously amused look from Lacey, who was heading over to us with her lunch. Niall passed her my phone and she started to chuckle. “So who’s training at Star later today?” “Easy down on the volume, we’re the exclusive crew, remember?” Niall teased. “I saw a few of the jocks trying to get in the other day, had to run around the area a few times till they finally left.” “So I take it you’ve had a few rounds of sightseeing, ey Bri?” I asked amused. “It was more of a huge merry-go-round, without the horse,” he joked. “Ok, back exit 3U at 16:30? Everyone cool?” I heard a chorus of yeah and ok’s and we all went our separate ways after lunch.
I noticed how some nerdy kid was watching us. I think he knows something... Or someone important, at the least.
1010 Words and two moths later I have an update for you guys!! Whooo. Thank school, theyve got wifi ;)
