The man suddenly launched himself at Levi and slid out a knife. Levi braced himself but hit the dirt ground hard. The man's knife was mere centimeters away from Levi's throat.

"Stop it!"

You brought out your revolver and pointed it at the man's head. You held your stance as he glanced slowly, eerily at you. Levi saw he was distracted. He threw the man off then darted to you. He grabbed your hand and dragged you back to the truck.

As you were running, you sensed something was behind you. You turned for a split second and saw the man with a pistol, aimed at Levi.

You weren't even thinking about yourself.

You weren't thinking about the future.

You were thinking about him.

You forcefully let go of Levi's hand as you saw the man pull the trigger. Levi turned abruptly as your body slumped. The horror in his eyes prevailed unimaginable and rage-filled to the brim. He let out a yell and pulled out a pistol of his own and shot him down.

"Weak bastard only took one bullet."

He put his gun back into the truck and quickly bent down to you. The bullet struck your abdomen. You were bleeding rapidly.

He ripped his shirt to tie a makeshift tourniquet. Your breathing turned immediate and unsteady.

"(Y/N), (Y/N), open your eyes, open them!"

You could hear his distant voices, his cries for you to open your eyes. To tell him that you're still fighting.

And then you did, you opened them just barely.

"(Y/N)..."

He cupped your cheek and sat you up gently. He carefully helped you into the truck, then proceeded to drive away. He gazed down at you, still on edge.

You smiled at him weakly.

Everything was going to be okay.
