May's P.O.V
I stormed out of the cab and slammed the door shut in a storm of rage. I felt slightly bad for slamming the door so abruptly on the the nice man but the thought quickly dispersed As I approached the tall dark doors. I took a deep breath and inhaled the crip cold air that faintly smelled of rain.
I walked through the doors and straight down to the long hallways where I signed in and waited patiently for them to call my name. So many thoughts swirled around my head as I sat in the busy room. This could be it. I could meet him. My father. Before I could sink any deeper in my pit of despair and dread, I heard my name called in a loud booming voice." May Gibbons for Cell mate 2457"
I stood up from my seat and gave a quick nod to the guard who stood at the door. My palms were sweating as I sat in the mind numbing silence. Suddenly the door swung open and there she was. Cat Adams. That same wave of rage rushed over me again as I saw the devilish smirk that was plastered across her face.
" Maevey! You made it" she exclaimed excitedly with an undertone of sarcasm.
"Yes I did" I said as emotionless as possible knowing that was the only I get what I wanted without feeding into her game.
" How long has it been Maevey?"
"Exactly 279 days." I snapped
She chuckled wickedly at my instantaneous retort and sighed.
"You are definitely your fathers daughter." She chuckled.
"Speaking of broken families how are the gibbons doing on this fine evening" she sneered
Those words enraged me beyond words. She new that I didn't have a good relationship with my parents because of her. When I told them I wanted to meet Cat, they told me it was a mistake but I didn't listen. Soon after my first visit with Cat they became distant with me and I told Cat this in a letter. This was before I realized her ultimate goal. But she knew what affect this would have on me.
" I'm not here for games Catherine" I snapped back at her.
" I came here for answers, you can give them to me now or I can leave."
She smirked at me once again making me just uncomfortable enough to make me shift in my seat ever so slightly.
"Maevey what games are you talking about? Can't a mother just spend some quality time with her daughter before she's executed?" She beamed batting her eyes sarcastically.
" I want the name of my father just like you promised you would give me if I came to see you. Well I'm here seeing you so I want a name."
She was clicking her tong condescendingly as she smirked.
" Maevey Maevey Maevy. I thought you knew better than that. You didn't really think it'll be that easy do you" she practically giggled as the words escaped her lips
" What is it that you want Catherine" I hissed
" Isn't it obvious, I want to see your father just as much as you do. And given all the gifts Ive left him, he should be here any minute now."
" what gifts!?" I blurted in terror. She said nothing she just smiled and strengthened her gaze.
" Mom what did you do!?" I screeched
" Dont worry you'll see soon enough Maevey dear" she cackled
I lunged across the table but not before she pushed back in her chair so she was just out of my reach. She was still grinning from ear to ear when Suddenly multiple guards flung the door open and quickly uncuffed her from the table and escorted her out the door before I could even lay a hand on her.
