Aiden furrowed his brows when he left his room to see Bella's light was still on, shining from under the door. It was early hours in the morning and he had only left to use the bathroom.

He walked over to her and went to knock on the door but stopped, an annoyed feeling within his body. He was still upset about finding out she and Edward had been to dinner together. He didn't want to let his stupid jealousy get in the way of him and Bella though so he lightly knocked on the door before opening it.

Almost instantly, Bella shut her laptop so he couldn't see what was on the screen. "Is everything okay? Why are you still up?" He asked curiously.

"U - Um, no reason. I was just doing some research on a project for school. Guess I didn't realise the time." She laughed nervously.

"Oh?" He said with raised eyebrows, he could tell she was lying to him. She was the worst liar on the planet. "Is there any chance I'm going to get the truth out of you or should I just go back to bed?"

She pursed her lips before sighing. "I really am just doing some research. It's nothing. Go back to bed." She said softly. She couldn't tell him the truth that she was researching vampires because she suspected Edward was one.

He nodded his head slowly and backed out of the room. "Okay, get some sleep. We have school in a few hours. Don't want you looking like a zombie." He said sarcastically before closing the door. He didn't move straight away and just looked at the door with narrowed eyes. He was suspicious and he really wanted to know what she was doing but if she wasn't going to tell him, there wasn't much he could do about it.

Over at the Cullen house, Edward was pacing back and forth as his mind ran with thoughts. He was of course thinking about his mate and how annoyed he was at himself that he had given him the wrong idea. Now, Aiden thought there was something going on between him and Bella when that was not the case at all. He didn't want her like that. All he wanted was his mate.

"I have to tell him the truth." Edward mumbled to himself but everyone else had heard.

Rosalie's eyes went wide and she snarled. "You can't tell him about us! Have you lost your mind?!"

"What else am I supposed to do? I'm going to lose him if I keep lying to him. He's my mate, Rosalie. Every time I hurt him it feels like I was to have my heart removed." He said almost desperately.

His tone seemed to shock most of them since they had never heard him talk like this before.

Alice looked at him comfortingly and put a hand on his shoulder. "Everything will turn out fine. You can trust me. Maybe telling him the truth is the best idea."

"Why not?" Emmett shrugged. "If he's Edward's mate he's going to find out eventually."

"Am I the only one thinking sane here? He's a human and as much as you would like to believe it, you don't know him, Edward. He could go running through the streets screaming vampire and get us all killed." She hissed at him.

"He's not like that." Edward snapped at her. He hadn't known Aiden long but he trusted him and he knew he could trust him with this secret.

"And what if he gets killed because of this information?"

That question made Edward halt. He put his hands on his face, once again, his emotions were going crazy. "I'd never let anything happen to him."

"Rosalie..." Esme said gently, not liking to see one of her sons upset. "Aiden will always be apart of Edward's life now. You know what the mate bond is like. You can't reject it. All that will do is hurt both of them."

Rosalie scoffed, "this isn't right." She said before stomping out the room. Emmett let out a loud sigh before announcing he was going to follow after her.

"Do what you feel it right, Edward. That's all the advice I can give you." Carlisle said calmly.

When morning came, Aiden already had a plan in his mind. See, he was way to curious about what Bella had been looking at that had captured her attention so much and her lying only made him wonder more.

So, he waited patiently until she left her room to take a shower. He sneakily left his room, giving a quick look around before rushing into her room, nearly tripping over his own feet in the process.

This was a total invasion of privacy but he didn't care. His curiosity was getting the better of him.

He made sure to close her door behind him so he dad wouldn't see him in there before he rushed over to her laptop and sat in her chair. He opened the lid and was surprised to find it had still been on and one the same page she had left it.

"Cold ones?" He questioned to no one and began reading. "What the..." He trailed off. The more he read the more confused he was getting. Why was she looking up things about vampires? This is what she had been so interested in?

Instead of satisfying his curiosity, it only made him more confused. Why would she hide this from him? What was so important about this?

He leaned back in the chair and rubbed the back of his neck. Maybe she was just doing research for a project... but he had been so sure she was lying to him.

He heard the shower turn off and his eyes widened. She couldn't find him snooping or he would never hear the end of it. He jumped up out of the chair and ran for the door before he gasped and turned around. He had left the laptop open. She would know.

He speeded over to the laptop and slammed the lid shut, wincing slightly at his harshness and ran back for the door. It never took her long to get ready so he knew he didn't have much time.

He made it out of her room and ran back to his own just in time to hear the bathroom door open. He shut his door and leaned his back against it, breathing deeply. "Vampires?" He mumbled to himself again. Should he try to confront her about it?

No. Then she would know he snooped.

He would just have to let it go. It couldn't have been that important.

Authors Note: I've found that I not only like reading shorter chapters and longer books compared to long chapters and shorter books. So, I'm just warning everyone that chapters for this book are going to be around 1000 - 2000 words long but they will probably be closer to 1000.
