Yin woke up that morning feeling like something was off. He couldn’t quite put a finger to it. There was a heaviness in the air and the pouring rain outside certainly didn’t help with the gloomy feeling. Because of his hypersensitivity to the supernatural, he just shrugged it off to bad energy.
Throughout the day, he felt like there was something he should be wary about, like an itch he couldn’t scratch. He went through his classes as he normally would but he was making sure to take an extra look at everything going on around him. His streak with the supernatural so far was not good, and he didn’t want to make it worse.
War had warned him many times to be extra careful, that they weren’t sure exactly why it was happening but crossing paths with malevolent spirits more than three times over such a short amount of time did not bode well for him. He was starting to think that he was either a person with the worst luck, getting caught in the worst possible scenarios or that the supernatural world somehow had it out for him. Whatever it was, he was starting to understand that he should be extra careful.
The architecture student had also taken it upon himself to show up on random times when he knew Yin was free, using the excuse that he wanted to make sure that he wasn't brushing shoulders with the supernatural and risking his life, again.
"You and War are spending an awful amount of time together." Off observed.
"And?" Yin asked as he pocketed his phone after sending a quick message to the aforementioned person.
"Nothing. Just that people are talking."
"Talking? What would they be talking about?" Yin asked, perplexed.
Off stared at him. "People like to gossip about other people getting together. Especially about the two of you apparently."
"First of all, how do you know about gossip? And second of all, why would they be talking about the two of us?"
His companion snorted. "You've forgotten that you're famous in the university."
"I am not."
"You are. And so is War. People adore him, it's weird you've never heard about him before actually, but then again you never pay attention to these things. I won't be surprised if there are people already vying for his attention."
Yin scoffed. "They don't stand a chance."
"Getting possessive now."
"Just telling the truth."
"Whatever you say." Off shrugs. "All I want to point out is that, if you like him make a move before someone else does."
"I already told you, they don't stand a chance."
"And how do you know that?"
"Because I won't let them."
Off stops on his tracks and laughs. "Ah I should've known. No need for my interference then."
"I'm not that slow." Yin protests. "I know what I have in front of me, I'm not blind."
"Have you told him?"
"Not yet. It's not the right time."
"When is the right time?"
"Let's start when I don't have malevolent ghosts trying to kill me every second."
"Yes well, that might take a while."
"Or when I can't take it anymore, whichever comes first."
"You're all grown up." Off says dramatically with a hand on his chest. "I never thought I'd see the day."
