“The DUFF Short Story Contest”

CONTEST RULES (“RULES”) 

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A WATTPAD ACCOUNT AND INTERNET CONNECTION IS REQUIRED TO ENTER “The DUFF Short Story Contest”.

(“CONTEST”) IS OPEN TO LEGAL RESIDENTS OF THE FIFTY (50) UNITED STATES AND THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA (“ELIGIBILITY AREA”) WHO ARE AT LEAST THE AGE OF MAJORITY IN THEIR JURISDICTION OF RESIDENCE, OR IF THE ENTRY IS CREATED BY AN INDVIDIUAL YOUNGER THAN THE AGE OF MAJORITY, THE ENTRY IS SUBMITTIED WITH THE FULL KNOWLEDGE AND CONSENT OF THE ENTRANT’S PARENT OR LEGAL GUARDIAN. ALL ENTRIES (AS DEFINED BELOW) MUST MEET THE ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILTIY REQUIREMENTS SET FORTH BELOW.

1.  Contest Overview; Contest Entities; Requirement of Executed Entry Forms. The Contest promoting The DUFF Movie (the “DUFF”) is sponsored by WP Technology Inc., (the “Sponsor”) and consists of a skilled-based competition divided into three (3) distinct phases. In the first phase of the Contest (“Phase One”), Entrants (as defined below) meeting the age and residency requirements set forth above who are interested in participating in the Contest, must complete and submit a story (“Story”) of between 500 and 1,500 words describing themes from the Duff Movie around how you came to be your true self and shed stereotypes “themes”.  (The Story must be based on your original ideas and/or your own experiences.  Do not include any characters or any other part of the movie or the book “The DUFF” or use any other source material in creating your Story other than your own original writing, imagination and experience!)  Each such eligible individual submitting an eligible Story (see below) shall be herein referred to as an “Entrant” and the submitted Story the “Entry”.   

In “Phase Two”, a judging panel (as detailed below) will judge the Submissions based on the Judging Criteria (as defined below).  

At the end of Phase Two the five (5) Submissions receiving the five (5) highest scores will be eligible to move forward to “Phase Three” judging (as detailed below) as the “Finalist Submissions”; the Entrants submitting such Finalist Submissions referred to as the “Finalists” and each such Entrant as a “Finalist”.

In Phase Three “Phase Three”, a judging panel (as detailed below) will judge the five (5) Finalist Submissions based on the Judging Criteria (as defined below).  

At the end of Phase Three judging (as detailed below), the Finalist Submission receiving the highest total scores in the opinion of the judges will be declared the prospective Grand Prize winner of the Contest..

If the prize is won by an Entrant below the age of majority in his/her jurisdiction of residence (“Minor”), the prize will be awarded in the name of the winning Minor’s parent or legal guardian.

The Contest begins at 11:59 pm Eastern Time (“ET”) on Wednesday, February 4, 2015 and ends at  11:59 pm ET on Sunday, February 15, 2015, the deadline for entering the Contest (the “Contest Period”).  All relevant dates and times during the Contest will be determined in accordance with the Sponsor’s server, the official timekeeping device. 

PARTICIPATION IN THE CONTEST BY ENTRANTS IS SUBJECT AT ALL TIMES TO COMPLIANCE WITH THESE RULES AND WITH ALL APPLICABLE FEDERAL, STATE AND LOCAL LAWS (COLLECTIVELY, THE “APPLICABLE LAWS”).

PERSONALLY IDENTIFIABLE INFORMATION COLLECTED FROM ENTRANTS IN THIS CONTEST WILL ONLY BE USED IN CONNECTION WITH THE ADMINISTRATION OF THE CONTEST (INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, TO DETERMINE ELIGIBILITY, FOR POTENTIAL WINNER NOTIFICATION PURPOSES, AND IN CONNECTION WITH PRIZE FULFILLMENT), UNLESS THE ENTRANT HAS AFFIRMATIVELY OPTED IN TO RECEIVING EMAIL UPDATES FROM SPONSOR AND ITS AFFILIATES AS SET FORTH ON THE CONTEST’S ENTRY PAGE.  ALL PERSONALLY IDENTIFIABLE INFORMATION COLLECTED IN CONNECTION WITH THIS CONTEST WILL BE SUBJECT TO THIS
