I walked out of the house fuming. He had done stupid little selfish things like that before but never on this level. It was always taking the last of something without asking me or changing the channel without seeing if I was even watching what was on tv. Little dumb things like that, never something as serious as leaving me on the side of the road with no apparent ride because he wanted to play a video game.

"Was this not the right place?" I heard a voice call after me as I walked down the sidewalk with my phone in my hand attempting to order a ride but failing with how my hands were shaking with anger.

I turned to see Luc poking his head out of his car. I didn't think he would still be here.

"Apparently it wasn't" I said bitterly turning to face him.

"Whoa" he started as he got out of his car and half jogged towards me. "Someone's mad. Everything ok?" He asked approaching me.

"I'm sorry. It's fine, really. Why are you still here? I thought you would be long gone by now" I looked at him seriously.

"I was setting up my phone to find the best way back to my place, glad I was still here though you need a ride somewhere else?" He looked at me sympathetically.

"You've done enough really, don't worry about it" I pulled my phone back up.

"Put your phone away, come on" he pushed my phone down and placed his hand between my shoulder blades, leading me back to his car.

"You don't have to do this" I said softly buckling my seat belt.

"I want to, I'm not letting you stay out here yourself and get in a strangers car" he huffed putting the car in drive.

"That makes one of you" I mumbled under my breath.

"Huh?" He turned to me questioningly.

"Technically you were a stranger" I laughed, completely side stepping what was on my mind.

"You knew my name" he chuckled.

"When you order a ride it tells me their name too" I breathed a laugh.

"Ok true...but we had already hung out, bonded over being stranded and not knowing anything about cars" he smiled at me.

"Ok, fine. You win" I giggled taking a look at my phone. Mike hadn't even bothered to text.

When we pulled up to my place I unbuckled my seat belt before turning back to Luc.

"Do you want some dinner?" I asked him without even thinking.

"Dinner?" He rose an eyebrow at me.

"Well yeah, are you hungry? You spent most of the day helping me and being my taxi all over town I figured the least I could do is make you some dinner"

"Dinner sounds great" he smiled parking the car completely and following me inside.

I had already had plans in mind of what to make for dinner, just a change of company. Plus I owed him big time for everything he had done for me, I would have been more of a complete mess without his help.

"What are you doing?" I eyed him as he opened the fridge.

"I'm helping" he said like it was clearly obvious.

"No you're not, go sit down and watch tv" I reached for the lettuce he pulled out of the fridge as he pulled it away from me.

"I'm not going to sit and watch tv while you cook for me, I help or I leave those are your two options" he smirked at me.

"Fine" I gave up and went to reach for a bowl. "You can make the salad" I set the bowl in front of him.

"My specialty" he chuckled opening the lettuce.

We talked while we cooked, getting to know each other a little better and slowly but surely things felt comfortable. It had almost felt like I had known him forever. When he was done with the salad, he did little things anyway he could to help me with the cooking.

I wasn't used to having help in the kitchen and I had to admit, it felt nice.

"So tell me" I started as I began putting the food on plates. "What were your plans today if you hadn't come to my rescue?" I giggled.

"Honestly? I didn't have a plan for today. I figured I would just start my day and see where it took me" he chuckled lightly.

"For real? That's awesome, I love it" he eyed me suspiciously. "What? I do! I've always wanted to just pack a bag fill up the car with gas and drive. No specific destination, just see where the road takes me" I smiled moving to the table with the now full plates.

"What's stopping you?" He looked at me seriously as I moved to get drinks.

"It's not practical, I need a plan or it's dangerous" I shrugged.

"Why do I feel like that's not you talking?" He moved to grab the bowl of salad to the table.

"Because it's not" I breathed a laugh. "My boyfriends not spontaneous at all if you couldn't tell. He would hate something like that so not only would he never go with me, he wouldn't like it if I just went by myself"

"Maybe you need to not give him the option" he sat at the table.

"I'm not following" I took a seat with him.

"Pack him a bag tell him you have a surprise for him and just drive" he laughed lightly.

"He would hate me" I giggled turning my attention to my food. "It's a dumb idea anyways" I shrugged.

"It's not dumb. If it's something you want to do, you should do it." He said seriously starting on his own food.

"Maybe someday I'll break him" I shrugged, knowing full well there was no way that was happening.

"This is amazing" he looked at me shocked.

"Thank you, you look like you weren't expecting it to be good" I laughed.

"Not this good! What do you do for a living? Are you a chef?" He asked seriously.

"Not even close but thank you" I smiled.

He was so appreciative. After everything he had done for me, being able to give him a good meal felt satisfying.

After he helped clean up, even after I told him not to, he left. I hadn't checked my phone at all since we had left Mike's place, I figured I probably should at that point.

Thinking I was going to open my phone to multiple calls and texts from Mike, instead I got a shock when I opened my phone to absolutely nothing from him. I scoffed and closed my phone again. Unbelievable.

As I went to change into more comfortable clothes, my phone vibrated in my hand. Still not from Mike, but from Luc.

'Thanks for a delicious dinner hope the rest of your night is good'

"At least someone will care how my night goes" I said out loud moving to change before I answered him back. By the time I had finished changing I had another text.

Finally from Mike.

'Can we talk?'
