"So tell me, how did you get these tickets last minute?" Hayley looked at me curiously once we were in our seats.

"One of the guys gave them to me. I was supposed to have dinner with Mike tonight but he bailed." I shrugged.

"What has been up with him lately?" She asked almost annoyed.

"Girl, if you find out the answer to that question please let me know" I giggled as the team started skating out onto the ice for warmups.

"So" Hayley leaned over to me. "Which one gave you the tickets?" She rose an eyebrow at me.

I laughed at the fact that she hadn't gotten the answer to that question from my choice of apparel for the night.

"That one" I pointed at Luc as his eyes caught me.

He winked over at us with a wide smile on his face as I offered a wave. He waved a gloved hand at us before focusing back on warmups.

"Wait...you're not joking are you?" She looked at me wide eyed.

"No, why would I be joking?" I asked her confused.

"You actually know him? I'm gone for a few days and you've gone and got yourself a cute ass nhl player?" She laughed.

"Hayley" I shook my head at her.

"What? He's adorable" she motioned to the ice.

"He's my friend. He helped me out with my car and drove me around when Mike left me stranded, that's it" I shrugged.

"So what you're saying is he's sweet too?" She rose an eyebrow at me.

"Why did I even bring you?" I rolled my eyes jokingly at her.

"Because you love me" she wrapped an arm around me and squeezed.

"It's true, the time you were gone was torture" I laughed.

"Looks like you found someone to fill your time" she pointed down to Luc who was sending us another smile.

"I didn't know who else to call besides you when Mike left me out there when my car died, I was lucky he was there" I motioned to Luc.

"Is this your way of thanking him? Cheering him on at his game?" She looked at me seriously.

"What? No" I laughed with a shake of my head "I cooked dinner as a start of a thank you...he offered the tickets but I turned them down because I was supposed to go to dinner tonight but when Mike bailed, I figured why not?"

"Well he seems great, I'm glad we came to cheer him on. Even though you didn't prepare me enough so I could get something Dubois too" she giggled.

"You can have mine if you want it" I motioned to my clothing.

"No don't worry, maybe during intermission we can run and grab me something" she shrugged.

At the first intermission we went to find Hayley some sort of team apparel to wear.

"Do you want something of Luc's? Something plain? Or another player?" I asked her managing to finally get through to some apparel.

"Luc?" She rose an eyebrow at me as I lifted a Dubois shirt up for her to see.

"Oh...duh" she giggled slightly. "I like this one actually" she pulled up a team hoodie.

"Perfect" I smiled at her.

"Where did you get yours?" She looked at me curiously.

"I stopped at a store before I came here. I didn't want to fight the crowds but I knew I wanted to wear his jersey" I shrugged putting the shirt back on the rack and she gave me an accusing smile. "No Hayley" I giggled with a roll of my eyes.

"Whatever you say" she walked to the register.

I started getting hungry so I grabbed a snack before we headed back to our seats. We decided to stay in our seats for second intermission and halfway through the third period I knew I made a mistake.

"I should have gotten food" I threw my head back when there was a stoppage of play.

"Hungry?" Hayley giggled.

"Starving" I whined with a laugh.

"We can get food after the game" she pat my leg.

The game ended with the Jets winning and Luc scoring one of the goals.

"That was a lot of fun, we should do it more" Hayley smiled at me while linking her arms with mine.

"That would be fun" I smiled over at her as my phone alerted me of a text. "Well, want to meet Luc?" I asked her after reading the text from him that asked if I was still at the arena and if I wanted to meet up.

"Yeah? Sure" her eyes lit up.

"Come on" I tugged her back towards the arena as I texted Luc back.

I followed where he told us to meet him and as I turned the corner I spotted him leaning against the wall with his phone in his hand.

"Luc!" I yelled grabbing his attention as he looked up with a smile on his face.

"Al" he chuckled wrapping me in a hug as I jumped into his arms. "I'm so glad you decided to come"

"Me too, it was so much fun" I pulled away with a smile.

"I'm sorry about your dinner tonight" he said sympathetically.

"Already forgotten" I gave him a smile.

"That, is a beautiful beautiful jersey" he turned me around gently to look at the back.

"Thanks, it's new" I joked. "Great goal tonight by the way"

"Thanks, that was for you guys" he slung an arm around my shoulder smiling towards Hayley.

"Oh yeah, this is my friend Hayley. Hayley this is Luc" I motioned between the two of them.

"Nice to meet you Hayley" Luc smiled again extending his free hand.

"Nice to meet you too" Hayley smiled with a blush as she shook his hand.

"So what are your plans?" He looked between Hayley and I.

"She's starving so probably food for her" Hayley giggled.

"I think I'll just go home" I shrugged.

"Let's go grab something to eat" Luc suggested looking between Hayley and I once more than expectantly.

"Really? You're not too tired?" I asked with a raised eyebrow.

"Not at all plus you were promised dinner soooo someone should buy you dinner tonight" he grinned at me. "What do you say? You two in?" He asked us hopeful.

"I'm in, she's right I'm starving" I giggled.

"I actually have to be up early so I think I'll pass, but have fun guys" Hayley approached me wrapping me in a hug as Luc dropped his arm from around my shoulders.

"Oh, are you sure?" I asked her seriously pulling out of the hug.

"I'm sure, have fun. It was great meeting you" she turned to Luc with an outstretched hand as he looked at her hand questioningly before pulling her into a hug.

"Great meeting you too, you'll have to catch dinner with us the next time" he chuckled releasing her.

"You've got yourself a deal" Hayley smiled turning to walk away.

"So, what kind of food are you in the mood for?" Luc asked turning back to me.

"Literally anything, I'm so hungry I could eat you" I laughed.

"Whoa cannibal, let's go get you some food" he chuckled guiding me with his hand on my back.

My phone went off and I pulled it out of my pocket, reading Hayley's text as we walked.

'You're welcome😉'

I giggled at her text. She was never a fan of Mike and now she had the complete wrong idea about Luc and I. She was definitely going to use this to her full advantage.
