"areum?" chenle called out, gazing at the girl on the bridge, of whom he's fallen deeply in love with, "why are you out so late?"
the girl smiled, looking back out at the plants,
"i came to look at the winter flowers. would you like to join me?"

"jaemin?" areum called upon seeing her boyfriend locking lips with none other than bei chunhua, just two days before christmas. jaemin looked down, angry at himself for not pushing chunhua away. the truth was, jaemin truly loved areum but he knows he ruined it.
"it's not what it looks like, areum. she kissed me. but i didn't pull away, that was wrong of me. i'm sorry." he apologized and areum's eyes shut. she didn't want to believe this was happening.
"areum!" jaemin shook her awake. it was all just a bad dream. "are you okay?" he asked and she nodded, "y-yeah. just a bad dream."
"what did i do?"
"what do you mean?"
"you yelled "jaemin?" in your sleep." areum stayed quiet, not sure if she should tell jaemin what happened. then she sighed, giving in, "you cheated on me with chunhua."
jaemin shook his head, "good thing it was just a bad dream. you know i'd never do that right?" areum nodded as her boyfriend pulled her closer to him, resting his chin on her head. "areum."
"yeah?"
"i love you."
"i love you, too."

"chenle!" areum squealed, jumping onto his bed, waking him up. he groaned and pulled areum down, cuddling into her side. "chenle." she said softly but chenle only hummed, "hm?"
"tomorrow's christmas eve and we haven't even made gingerbread houses with jisung yet." the girl pouted and chenle looked up at her sleepily, smiling at her cuteness. "we can do it tonight!" areum smiled and nodded, "okay." she softly as she watched her best friend fall asleep on her chest.
a few hours later, areum and chenle are on their way to the mall. "lele, can i connect to the aux?" areum innocently asked, hoping chenle would say yes. and he did. he said yes without any hesitation and areum smiled. "thank you! jaemin never lets me do this." chenle frowned at the thought of jaemin not letting his own girlfriend play music.
they arrive at the mall and run into chenle's cousin, qian kun. "kun ge!" chenle smiled, hugging his cousin. "hi chenle. who's this?" "this is areum. shes my best friend!" "hi! i'm areum. nice to meet you."
"i'm kun! it's nice meeting you as well. what are you two up to?"
"we're looking for a gingerbread house kit! we're making gingerbread houses with our best friend jisung!" chenle said and kun nodded. they ended up hanging out with kun the entire day.
