dear adam,

you'd always wanted to see the louvre. I told you I'd go with you one of these days, but we knew it would never actually happen.

our time had ended before that adventure could even begin.

this summer I went to paris, and while I stared at the mona lisa, I thought of you.

trust me, she's as ugly as you always said. and surprisingly much smaller than I'd expected.

how did it take davinci four years to paint something so plain?

and somehow, still priceless. still beloved. still entirely beautiful and miraculous.
