1. "Superman" by Five for Fighting
"It may sound absurd but don't be naive
Even heroes have the right to bleed
I may be disturbed but won't you concede
Even heroes have the right to dream?
And it's not easy to be me."
These lines are the reason why this is my favorite song. I heard it once while driving on my way to school and by the time the song finished, tears were falling from my eyes. It was the first song that ever just touched me upon me the first time I listened to it.
2. "Thinking Out Loud" by Ed Sheeran
Most of the songs in this list have made an emotional impact on me one way or another. This song is also one of them. The first time I stumbled upon the music video, there were only such little likes and views on it. I watched it and from start to finish of the video, I was totally mesmerized in the emotions portrayed in the dancing of the couple. I mean I didn't cry but the emotional impact on me was huge.
3. "Have You Ever Really Loved a Woman" by Bryan Adams
I actually just found the song two weeks ago on my way home from school. Even though I was already home, I didn't get out of the car right away just so I could finish the whole song. After listening to the whole song, I immediately searched up what song it was. I've been listening to it every time I drive to school and home. The song made me think if I have ever really loved a woman. It just made me think about the question and still makes me think about the question until now.
4. "Your Call" by Secondhand Serenade
"I was born to tell you I love you,
And I am torn to do what I have to,
To make you mine
Stay with me tonight."
Those lines until now are so vivid in my mind. I still remember that night when me and my ex had an argument and there was a long silence between us both. It was around 2 in the morning when she suddenly started singing this song from the other end of the phone call. It took me by surprise for two reasons. One, that was the first time someone ever sang a song to me or even dedicated one to me. Two, she wasn't afraid to lower her pride, something she's had a problems of doing several times. Now, that me and her are over, this songs means much, much more to me now.
5. "On Bended Knees" by Boyz II Men
My favorite artist hands down are Boyz II Men. They had so many songs but this was the one I truly fell in love with. It was also the first song I ever dedicated to someone and in the middle of the rain. How more cliche could I be? Asking for forgiveness in the rain with no umbrella outside of my ex's house...
